Two really different hitters: Polanco sells out to pull at least early in the count. Kirilloff seems to prefer going opposite field.

Kirilloff hasnt been around Twins hitting coach's as long as Polo.  Coincidence?

Bellinger was a pretty good gamble this past offseason. A little more expensive than Gallo, but prolly a better bet

Did anyone else notice how shallow the San Diego outfielders played as opposed to how deep the Twins outfielders set up? 

Nick Gordon made a valiant effort to catch that short fly ball but he was playing super deep. It is an interesting strategy. I wonder if there is data for that.

I know it’s the CFers call, but Polo seemed to be closer. Wonder if he could have gotten it if not called off?

I was a huge supporter of anyone who rolled the dice on Bellinger last offseason. He was a really good bet, as he's still a 1-2 WAR player even if he doesn't hit. But if he hits, he can easily be a 5+ WAR player for $17m or whatever the Cubs paid him.
