Talking about the 1965 ASG. The reserve outfielders were Roberto Clemente, Frank Robinson, Billy Williams and John Callison. Picture telling those players, "Sorry guys, you're not good enough. Take a seat on the bench."

I was there behind 3rd base. One of the most exciting days of my life. It was hot that day and my mother and sister went to the car after about six innings. Nothing would pry my dad and me out of our seats!

I wonder if there is another team with a worse average with RISP than the Twins

We are second only to the Dodgers in strikeouts.  I'm shocked we're not first.

Okay Twins, the other guys have poked you (softly) in the face. Time to respond.

... or not.

I was there too. Four family members, two seats down the RF line and two seats in the second deck in the infield. We switched part way through. Don't remember a lot other than it was hot.

Times like that, you never forget.

I try not to be hugely negative, but right now if the homers don't come, the Twins don't score. They haven't fanned much today, but they really haven't been able to keep the line moving.

The offense is abysmal. They desperately lack an on base guy like Arraez.

And like that HR.

I remember meeting Rich Reese in the corridor to the clubhouse.  My high school phys ed teacher was a friend of his, and set up a quick before game meeting.  The one thing I remember was a sign on the Twins clubhouse door, "What you see here, do here or say in here, let it stay here".  I later read somewhere, Ball four, I think, that his sign was standard throughout MLB stadiums.

Maybe the two less than barreled hits can get Miranda going.

You're welcome everyone.

Anyone know what percentage of the Twins' runs this season have come via the HR ... and where they rank in MLB?

I wonder if the plan for Winder is to stretch back out as a starter in St. Paul as rotation depth behind SWR.

That was my thought, too
