CoastiePilot08 Verified Member Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 So AK is up but not in the lineup again. What gives?

Marcos Verified Member Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 Once again, this lineup reinforces my opinion that Baldelli is an incompetent coach. Buxton @leadoff ?! And what!!!… solano cleanup?!! He’s rolling up his sheet of sabremetrics and smoking it.

Surely they knew who was pitching for Cleveland before they brought him up...
stringer bell Verified Member Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 If they wanted to bring up Kirilloff before the 10th, they had to pair it with someone going on the Injured List. AK didn’t make it in time to play yesterday and isn’t starting tonight. It probably made that choice pretty difficult. Hopefully, he will pinch hit and get on the field tonight.

He should have been there yesterday, and been in the lineup instead of Solano. Today, let him sit and watch the lefty.

brycenation Verified Member Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 AK will be hitting for Solano by the third trip through the lineup after Ind- I mean Guardians go to the bullpen

ashbury Verified Member Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 I'll go with the consensus that Kirilloff will be the first pinch hitter once Cleveland brings in a righty reliever.

No, they were already bringing up Rodriguez and were going to send down another pitcher, probably Winder. The Rodriguez move had been announced and Larnach was listed in the starting lineup, but with Thielbar surprisingly going on the Il, they were able to call up Kirilloff, who otherwise would be frozen in AAA until 5/10. The rosters are capped at 13 pitchers, so they couldn’t add another pitcher without subtracting one.

stringer bell Verified Member Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 Guess who is in second place in the AL Central? If you have noticed, the Motor City Kitties have moved a full game ahead of the Guardians.

RickOShea Verified Member Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 Yeah, i see them play on TV and they look pretty good. I have a hard time really rooting for them, as being a divisional foe and AJ Hinch isn't one of my favorite people on this earth.
RickOShea Verified Member Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 Sonny Gray! Hope he can continue his excellent pitching.
ashbury Verified Member Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 What excuse will MLB.tv give me today for not letting me watch the game? "Oh, sorry, we sold the rights to someone else. Go ask YOUR MOM."
mrtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 Just saw Guardians of the Galaxy preview, And in honor of Playing the Guardians , C.C. NICKNAME, Carlos Javier Correa Nickname: I Am Groot Born: 9/22/1994 in Ponce, Puerto Rico Draft: 2012, Houston Astros, Round: 1, Overall Pick: 1 High School: Puerto Rico Baseball Academy, Gurabo, PR
stringer bell Verified Member Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 From what I can see the Guardians don't have lefty in the bullpen. So, if they get Allen out of there, the left handed hitters can come in without fear of a bad matchup.
PDX Twin Verified Member Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 Mendoza---I mean Correa---is sure an easy out these days!

ashbury Verified Member Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 I was hoping to see Donnie Barrels make a bid to keep his job when Farmer is reactivated. Not this inning, apparently.
