Their best players are hurt…at least 3 guys the Twins would love to have not in the lineup tonight. Although it doesn’t explain the pitching issues as much. They’ll probably be around in 2023…undoubtably with a new mgr.

Especially with LaRussa apparently not in good health.  Hope he gets better, but stays away from the team.

As a Twins fan, I hope he’s managing that club next year?…but, yes…mostly just hoping he gets the health things figured out.

Sonny at 37 pitches through 3 innings potentially bodes well for a longer outing tonight.  Unless, of course, Rocco has other misguided ideas.

This game is far from over. The Twins have had opportunities to have a big lead, but so far only up two. In that ballpark, they need a bigger cushion. This game is really big with Cleveland way behind—they have a chance to put their foot on the throat of the Sox and tie Cleveland. Losing tonight would be a real missed opportunity.

I have a bad feeling this might be a Pagan game

Celestino is fine as a fourth OF, but he’s being exposed as an everyday player.

True.  Unfortunately, until Buxton and Larnach get somewhat healthy, we're just gonna have to suffer through it.

Hope he stays away, mostly for his own sake.

Would that make it more likely we face them in the playoffs?

Oh shite, that's how it's going to go down?

Twins fans have bemoaned injuries all year too, and one of those three is a paternity scratch and won't miss more than tonight's game. I just don't want to hear it from any side.

The Sox have been a clown show all year, and despite this there was a consistent angst that they'd turn it on. They were supposed to be that team that was around this year too so.... Yeah, unfortunately it'll be with a new manager.

Tonight's game is a microcosm of their season. An error and two walks to start the game, then getting thrown out at 2nd trying to stretch a hit into a double. Self inflicted wounds and piss poor defensive play are their trademarks. The Twins get them 8 more times after tonight; color me thrilled.

Starting to look like I spoke too soon.

Yes and yes. I thought they would eventually play better, at least pitching, but I was wrong. Defense matters. Baserunning matters. These guys have been on the golf course since Day 1. They could use a major re-set.

And how abt those NYY? 15-24 since ASG and down to Tampa tonight. Keep it going Rays....

Billy Hamilton help?

Spencer Steer debut with the Reds: 2 for 2 with 2 walks, a homerun, a double and scored the winning run in the bottom of the ninth. Not a bad 1st game in the bigs.

Hard to say.  But as I recall, he's not much of an offensive threat until or unless he somehow gets on base.

It'd be nice to see them play well in NY. My confidence level that'll happen is low.
