sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted June 19, 2022 Posted June 19, 2022 apologies to ol' Billy Boy) Shall i compare thee to a baseball game? I might as well despite your sullen glare, The lineups have each player's place and name And if you wait a moment, those i'll share: Minnesota Twins: 0. Dylan Bundy (R) P 1. Luis Arraez (L) 2B 2. Carlos Correa (R) SS 3. Max Kepler (L) RF 4. Gio Urshela (R) 3B 5. Alex Kirilloff (L) 1B 6. Gary Sanchez (R) DH 7. Trevor Larnach (L) LF 8. Ryan Jeffers (R) C 9. Nick Gordon (L) CF Arizona Diamondbacks 0. Luke Weaver (R) P 1. Daulton Varsho (L) RF 2. Alek Thomas (L) CF 3. Josh Rojas (L) 3B 4. C. Walker (R) 1B 5. David Peralta (L) LF 6. Buddy Kennedy (R) 2B 7. Pavin Smith (L) DH 8. Carson Kelly (R) C 9. Geraldo Perdomo (S) SS With innings nine each team has equal chance To hit the ball and make it safely home The box score tells the action at a glance It's not short concise, no treatise nor a tome. But you, i don't know where i should begin You got the heat, change ups, and curves. I can only check my swing, no hope to win. Or swing the check for more hors d'oeuvres. Alright, calm down, and do you have to shout? I went too far and now i get thrown out. Er... Man, how long has it been since i have written anything beyond a haiku (or limerick)? Play ball!

Dave The Dastardly Verified Member Posted June 19, 2022 Posted June 19, 2022 Decent looking lineup despite the absence of Buxton. Couldn't have said that last year.
bighat Verified Member Posted June 19, 2022 Posted June 19, 2022 Scoreboard watching already: Cleveland losing to LA 6-1 in the 6th. Twins have Jeffers, Urshela (batting cleanup!?), Larnach, Gordon and Kirilloff in the lineup - plus NO Buxton and they have Bundy on the mound. Can't imagine this will go well.

Aside from Arraez and Correa I frankly don't see much to like. Looks like the B-Team to me. Hope they prove me wrong.
Mander Verified Member Posted June 19, 2022 Posted June 19, 2022 No Buxton again, super. Bundy on the mound against the worst hitting team in baseball. Arizona wins.

Mill1634 Verified Member Posted June 19, 2022 Posted June 19, 2022 No idea what to expect in this game other than pain.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted June 19, 2022 Posted June 19, 2022 I wish Luis could be more of a stolen base threat. Lead off hits too often become lead outs on double plays.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted June 19, 2022 Posted June 19, 2022 Dodgers win. So one win in Arizona will guarantee first place when the Twins return home.

On a possibly related note, Kyle Garlick homered for the Saints in a 4-3 defeat.

sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted June 19, 2022 Author Posted June 19, 2022 Kirilloff avoids injury in first at bat.

Mill1634 Verified Member Posted June 19, 2022 Posted June 19, 2022 Larnach is making a case to be sent to St Paul...which is crazy after how hot he started out. He has an OPS of ,423 this month with a 38% k rate.

sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted June 19, 2022 Author Posted June 19, 2022 Some prime Bundy here. 37 is prime, right?
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted June 19, 2022 Author Posted June 19, 2022 0-0 after 2. Take that, Circus Boy!
stringer bell Verified Member Posted June 19, 2022 Posted June 19, 2022 I'd like to see Gordon run here, if his hamstring is okay.

Brahms 1 ... so awesome, by the best orchestra in the U.S. and one of the best in the world. (I still give that nod to Berlin)
stringer bell Verified Member Posted June 19, 2022 Posted June 19, 2022 Weaver might have been able to catch or knock down that ball, but he let it go.
gil4 Verified Member Posted June 19, 2022 Posted June 19, 2022 It sounds like we have quite the home field advantage on the road in Arizona.
