John Bonnes Site Manager Posted December 16, 2021 Posted December 16, 2021 MLB.com’s Minnesota Twins’ beat writer, Do-Hyoung Park, has apparently had enough of this offseason labor stoppage crap and has taken it upon himself to entertain us. Park announced on Friday that he will appear on Monday’s Jeopardy! Show, competing against the show’s latest juggernaut, Amy Schneider, who will enter Monday’s show on a streak of 13 consecutive wins. The show was taped earlier this offseason, but until today Park has been forbidden from admitting he was a contestant, and is still bound to secrecy about how the episode turns out. He prepared throughout spring training and the season for the competition, and even coaxed the producers of the show to delay his appearance until after the Twins’ season ended. Park will compete against “Jeopardamy”, Amy Schneider, who has dominated the competition recently. She has already won $536,400 during her 13-game win streak, moving her into 4th place in Jeopardy! all-time winnings list for regular players. TheJeopardyFan.com predicts a 24-game win streak for her, which would give her a 91.956% chance of continuing her streak through 14 games, which would of course mean a one-and-done for Do. But don’t count our guy Do out. Park graduated in 2017 from Stanford with both a master’s and bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering and another master’s in computer science. He also graduated from St. Paul Central early . The kid has some serious game. Can he perform a Twins-vs-the-Yankees level upset? Tune in this Monday (locally) at 4:30 PM on KARE11 to find out. John Bonnes Site Manager Posted December 16, 2021 Author Posted December 16, 2021 I think Seth is more stoked about this than even Do is. I did not know what a Jeopardy geek he was. Wookiee of the Year, Seth Stohs and TopGunn#22 3

I did not know what a Jeopardy geek he was. I once was on a trivia team with Do and Betsy and Phil Miller at the Ft. Myers brewery... we finished in second place. I helped with like some pop culture questions, but Do carried us on the smart-people questions. And yeah, this summer I started getting into Jeopardy. My dad is a big fan, and late in the summer, I'd get done with work and then we would watch it. I tried to sound smart. It didn't always work. Quick note... for those in the Fargo TV market, Jeopardy is on Channel 4, KVLY, at 5:00... And yes, I took the online test to try to be a jeopardy contestant... still waiting for them to get back to me. Guessing it'll be a long while. Ha! But the daily J6 test on jeopardy.com is a lot of fun... Back to the point... Do is such a good dude, a great writer, and so smart. I am seriously happy for him. He deserves this opportunity and I can't wait to watch it. LewFordLives, Longdistancetwins, TopGunn#22 and 1 other 4

The Twins don't actually employ him... but yeah, if he becomes the next Ken Jennings, he might become the show's next full time host!
TopGunn#22 Verified Member Posted December 17, 2021 Posted December 17, 2021 My wife and I DVR Jeopardy every day and like to play at supper time...just a way to keep the brain working and functioning. My wife was her class Valedictorian and graduated college Sum Cum Laude. I was a "B" student (I married "UP" so as to insure smart children). I always complain "where's the Baseball category"?!?!? This should be a fun episode when we get to it. Amy is indeed a buzz saw! jjswol 1

Seth, I realize the Twins don't employ him. The post was totally tongue-in-cheek. The Twins now seem like that old bar sign that never changes, "Free beer tomorrow".
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted December 18, 2021 Posted December 18, 2021 I’m so glad we can talk about this. I was in the studio audience that day. Although I cannot tell you who won, I am not under the same confidentiality, and can share some stuff. So... Shall we have a look at the categories? i think you’ll be pleasantly surprised: , . . . and last.. IndianaTwin and dougd 2

mikelink45 Old-Timey Member Posted December 18, 2021 Posted December 18, 2021 Nothing against this article or the writer, but if this is the status of baseball where we really care about a twins writer appearing on a game show then I am too old to continue being a fan.

IndianaTwin Verified Member Posted December 21, 2021 Posted December 21, 2021 It’s in syndication, so it’s on different times for all of us (7:30 on the South Bend station), but we should have started a Game Thread.
