PseudoSABR Verified Member Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 I like it. Two run lead, you don't have to send the guy a message that he'll be pinch-hit for every time this season. Let him go up there.I was thinking that, but still. Glad he produced. The SS position has produced more RBIs than any other position (I believe).
glunn Community Moderator Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 Are we dreaming or is this really happening?
SirLoin Verified Member Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 Are we going to get a Rule 5 Ryan appearance in the 9th?
glunn Community Moderator Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 So should Pressly pitch the 9th? Or let Perkins get some work in?
ashbury Verified Member Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 Pressly, IMO. This game is going right according to script.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted April 4, 2013 Author Posted April 4, 2013 Are we going to get a Rule 5 Ryan appearance in the 9th? That'd be my guess. Any idea who's up in the pen right now? I assume Perkins just sat down.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted April 4, 2013 Author Posted April 4, 2013 So should Pressly pitch the 9th? Or let Perkins get some work in? Perkins pitched yesterday and the team is headed for a road trip. I doubt we'll see Glen today.
buckninetyone Provisional Member Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 aaron hicks- the reverse reggie cleveland?
SirLoin Verified Member Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 Is it a Twins rule that Rule 5 pitchers that make the team out of Spring Training get #57? Or did it just work out so well the last time that they thought it might be a good omen for Pressly?
SirLoin Verified Member Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 1-2 to Hunter....just throw it in the dirt!
ShaeTwins Provisional Member Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 What a fantastic way to celebrate our first winning record since 2010!
SirLoin Verified Member Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 Two of three from the Tigers! Well done!
glunn Community Moderator Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 What a great way to end the series and to start the first road trip!
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted April 4, 2013 Author Posted April 4, 2013 Hard to say many negative things about how this season has started. Now, the Orioles!
IdahoPilgrim Provisional Member Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 Granted, this is still a small sample size, but... How many of those who were predicting a 90 loss season want to change their votes? Let's see those hands...
big dog Verified Member Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 Good things from Pelfrey, Plouffe, Parmalee, Hicks, and Roenicke. Great to see.
robbie111 Provisional Member Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 Also nice to see Mauer and Morneau hitting well to start the year. I know it's a super small sample size but seeing Morneau with only 1 K and 3 BB should tell you he's seeing the ball well. I'm especially happy though with the pitching and seeing clutch hitting with Escobar, Floriman and power from Plouffe and Willingham. A dream start to the year is right. Much better than I thought they were going to start.
glunn Community Moderator Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 My Vegas bet that the Twins will win more than 58 games is looking pretty good right now -- only 57 more to go.

DaveW Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 Hard to say many negative things about how this season has started. Now, the Orioles! I will be at that game tomorrow followed by the Royals series then the Mets series. Roadtrip!
Twins Twerp Provisional Member Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 I know it is early, but man it feels good to quiet those sabre metrics who hate the twins yet are twins fans.
mcrow Provisional Member Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 I'm not ready to change predictins based on 3 games but I like what I've seen of this team so far. Surprisingly, three good pefermances from the starters and none of them were Diamond. The Twins exposed the Tigers BP issues some as well. All-in-all, can't complain. Would liked to see more out of Hicks but he had a nice final AB.
ScottyB Verified Member Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 All of a sudden, the schedule to start the season looks managable. Every one is 1-2 or 2-1, and we get to play KC, the Marlins, the Mets, and the dredded White Sox after the Orioles. We have an outside shot at .500 (or dare I say, a little better for April). It helps when we don't start the season against the Yankees, Toronto and Boston.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 I need to check with RiverBrian to determine whether Fielder has the wheels to upset this strategy. Let me go to my wheels chart. Mark Fidrych... Not any moreJim Field... Not any moreNate Field... NopeCecil Fielder... NopePrince Fielder... Umm... Let's see... No... He does not have the wheels to upset this strategy.

So, getting out of the Tigers series with 2 wins looks good right now.
