Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted January 1, 2022 Posted January 1, 2022 Udoh activated from the covid list and most likely back starting at RG (Oh boy!) Pierce will be out for the game due to illness.

Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted January 2, 2022 Posted January 2, 2022 Mark Rosen said he thought Mannion was 100% the correct decision because Mannion works closely with Cousins and has the same style of play and knows the playbook. I don’t know. I think it’s an indictment that the team would rather not risk expanding the playbook for a quarterback like Mond who can bring the running element. I think Mond is the high risk high reward play here. It’s a different game than it was 10-20 years ago where QBs and WRs develop and contribute much earlier. I don’t need to tell any of you that. I will say that the offense has maybe looked more open than it did earlier in the year? Not sure. Not having a mobile QB threat is putting yourself at a disadvantage, but I can’t blame Cousins who has been running better than previous seasons, or maybe more accurate to say he’s less afraid to “take off running” when needed. Anyway, it’s Mannion tonight, and not Mond. We’ll see.

Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted January 2, 2022 Posted January 2, 2022 Refs bailed out the Bengals two plays in a row and now they are AFC North champs. They’re going to be my adopt a team for the playoffs. Ja’Marr Chase is a total badass.

Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted January 2, 2022 Posted January 2, 2022 Bruce Arians just announced Antonio Brown is no longer a Buccaneer. Lol you don’t say?
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted January 2, 2022 Posted January 2, 2022 Winners go for touchdowns. Zimmer goes for punts and field goals. Winners throw the ball to great players even if they are covered, losers check down.

Otto von Ballpark Old-Timey Member Posted January 3, 2022 Posted January 3, 2022 Vikings' potential playoff competition -- Eagles, 49ers, and Saints -- all won this afternoon. So the Vikings postseason odds are down to 3%, per 538. Looks like like only way in is for the Vikings to win out (at GB tonight, vs CHI next week) and have the Eagles and Saints lose next week (vs DAL and at ATL, respectively).
gunnarthor Old-Timey Member Posted January 3, 2022 Posted January 3, 2022 Defense played a solid first quarter
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted January 3, 2022 Posted January 3, 2022 Remember when Collinsworth used to be somewhat objective when he called games? Now every game he calls has the best players on the field he’s ever seen. Example A: Calling Bradbury an “outstanding center”
LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted January 3, 2022 Posted January 3, 2022 The Vikings offense is offensive
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted January 3, 2022 Posted January 3, 2022 If Mond is somehow worse than Mannion, goodness gracious. I can’t believe it.

LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted January 3, 2022 Posted January 3, 2022 1:05 left in the half, time for one more 3 and out
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted January 3, 2022 Posted January 3, 2022 Here comes the blowout. If GB doesn’t take the foot off the gas they will win by 35
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted January 3, 2022 Posted January 3, 2022 Losers kick field goals. Winners try to win

Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted January 3, 2022 Posted January 3, 2022 I am muting the commentary the rest of the game. Collinsworth talking up Mannion’s first half like he was great.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted January 3, 2022 Posted January 3, 2022 This decision alone is worth firing Zimmer. On top of the 100 other things.
cHawk Community Moderator Posted January 3, 2022 Posted January 3, 2022 At least Zimmer will be fired, on a positive note.

nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted January 3, 2022 Posted January 3, 2022 There was zero chance Mannion won this game. The Vikings only hope was to actually go with Mond and hope the difference in QB styles messed with GB’s game plans. But now when they lose, Zimmer and Spielman can try to pin the lost season on Cousins’ selfishness. They’ll all be gone regardless though, and we didn’t get a look at Mond.
