What an exciting finish to last night's game!

And this from the previous day ... leading up to the Polanco walk-off sac fly:

We've been experiencing a lot of that lately ... and while too little, too late for the end result to the season as we were hoping, it's still fun anyway ... even the 3.5-4 hrs of it! The Twins just seem to be clicking lately and it's a good ride. I'm hoping for a good night from Ober, was hoping to see Gordon in the lineup, but onward we must go. May the clicking continue! And we still don't know who tomorrow's pitcher will be ... Ryan? Thorpe? All will be revealed in time! See? There's still some excitement to be had.

'Nuff said ... the lineups:

Time to wake up and turn the game on....

What i miss?

Half an inning of no score baseball :)

So, who is that more tiring for ... the pitcher or the batter?

('Yes' is not an acceptable answer)

Long at bats?

The inning ended for both, so...

Neither?

But i don't speak from recent experience...

Yet another bases loaded no outs situation goes up in flames... that's 2 hits in 18 PAs with the bases loaded for Sano. And 2 GDPs in 2 days for Ref with the bases juiced. Ugh.

Geez ... Simmons ... don't know what to say ... getting the base at 2nd was something, but that throw was something else

Jim Kaat or Greg Maddux would have fielded that ball.

Pitchers don't put themselves in position to help the team at the end of their delivery anymore.

I don't mind the Simmons throw. Sano, or whoever is playing first, needs to come off the bag if he needs to rather than let it go. Limit the damage always. Sano first job is to catch a catchable ball, and I believe that was.

Simmons is surely declining, and I have not been happy with him, but that was not about his "glove" but his throw. And Sano could have prevented the outcome.

I focus on the amazing out at second on that one.
