Why did Clark Griffith let Jim Kaat go?

Their annual contract disputes are well documented. What's bizarre is that the Twins lost him to waivers. I don't know if that was standard procedure back then or if Calvin did it out of spite.

Huascar Ynoa, 3 hits, 0 runs in 5 1/3 IP in his first game since May.

jamie garcia was worth it.

Well, it was really for Littell & Enns, which wouldn't be so bad if Littell was pitching well for us like he is with the Giants. Like the Pressly and Wade trades, I find the failure to not be in the trades themselves but in the failure to develop players (Littell, Pressly, and Wade all became better players once they reached their new teams).

Luis Gil, 5 shut out innings so far tonight as Yankees begin their annual August rocket launch to playoffs:

Gils line in his MLB career: 1  0  0.00  3  3  0  15.2  9  0  7  18  1.02.....just like Mr Blutarski, Zero. Point. Zero. But hey, we got Jake Cave so what should we complain about.

Actually, Littell pitched pretty well for us too (2019), which made his release even more bizarre.

It's pretty crazy how two "lottery ticket" prospects in Ynoa and Gil are both looking like MLB starters... not to mention the Twins rarely trade guys like this. And we can't even get our top pitching prospects to turn out, not to mention the lottery ticket guys who've flopped as well.

It was really for Garcia, still. Garcia was for Littell and Enns. They really are different moves, other wise, Ynoa would have gone to the Yankees for Littell and Enns, which he didn't. The Braves wanted Ynoa, not the Yankees.

While I don’t disagree with the sentiment, it’s a weird thread to pull during a stretch when the Twins are starting loads of low-value rookies who are kinda killing it.

Sure, but I think Ynoa and Gil have much higher ceilings than the likes of Jax and Barnes. Considerably higher.

I know, I posted my dismay in the thread where it was announced he was DFA'd.

I wonder what a team’s record is when they have the bases loaded and don’t score at any point in a game.

I guess that is a quality start for Ober, eh? He is really getting tagged in the 6th, though, even if some weren't hits.

Twins need to WAKE TF UP and get some hits.

After all those early at bats with high pitch counts, Morgan only at 80 pitches. His 6.52 ERA has dropped .65 points so far this game.

Also, gonna call out @Squirrel for using Guardians in the topic title. I can’t wait to move past that old name!

So..... can one say "Indian Summer" anymore in your book? I always found that kinda romantic.

I can't wait for the Twins to score some runs. The Guardians are making it difficult today.
