Everything i know about Kansas City, i learned from popular music (well, once upon a time it was popular)

"Everything's up to date in Kansas City... they went and grew sky scraper 7 stories tall, about as high as a building aught to grow!"

"goin' to Kansas City, Kansas City here i come... They got some crazy little women there and i'm gonna get me one"

(and i'm sure there are more, but i am under the clock)

Kansas City isn't in Kansas any more. (Pretty sure they play in the Missouri side, right)

Just round the time they were discussing statehood, weren't there some minor disagreements that John Brown was involved in? I think they got settled and John Brown moved on to bigger things.

Anyway, let's hope this contest turns out to have less casualties than any of those...

Minnesota:

0. J.A. Happ (L) P

1. Luis Arraez (L) 2B

2. Josh Donaldson (R) 3B

3. Trevor Larnach (L) LF

4. Nelson Cruz (R) DH

5. Alex Kirilloff (L) 1B

6. Jorge Polanco (S) SS

7. Max Kepler (L) RF

8. Nick Gordon (L) CF

9. Ben Rortvedt (L) C

Kansas City:

0. Brady Singer (R) P

1. W. Merrifield (R) RF

2. Jorge Soler (R) DH

3. Carlos Santana (S) 1B

4. Salvador Perez (R) C

5. Hanser Alberto (R) 2B

6. Hunter Dozier (R) 3B

7. M. Taylor (R) CF

8. E. Olivares (R) LF

9. Nicky Lopez (L) SS

Kansas City has lost 9 in a row. There is little doubt in my mind that they will right that ship this weekend, starting tonight

Happ is on the mound, it will be an interesting battle of wills between him and the Royals offense to see who can cave in the quickest.

Fun fact: Sal Perez has 116 career home runs, and 117 of them have come against the Twins. You could look it up!

Sal? Sal Vador Perez.

The force is strong with this one...

Okay ... thanks, SSo1 for that intro ... I will be singing 'Oklahoma!' tunes all evening ... and if the game goes south, maybe I'll put that movie on instead. It's one of my favorites.

Fun fact: both of those HR amounts are wrong!

Double the double by Doubleso... Donaldson!!

Runners on 2nd and 3rd... How often does that happen?

And they both score on a comebacker!?

Weird, eh? And runner again on 2nd.

Wow Jim Katt ( I have his 1965 Topps card) is doing the Twins game

First, I'll give you benefit of doubt that your misspelling was a typo.

Jim Kaat is 82 years old. His voice doesn't sound that old and, most certainly, neither does his brain. IMHO he is without a doubt the best color man of the bunch.

The misspelling was intentional, hence the reference to the 1965 card

Wow, that amplifies the value of that card. Good on you!

Not really, you can buy it on eBay for 2.95, and I paid $5 for it about 20 years ago, that’s ok I wanted it

Smoking a chateau steak.... Never even heard of that cut. I wonder which will be done first, Happ, or dinner.....

Great minds… I had a NY Strip on the grill tonight with twice baked potatoes!

Oh. Never mind.

It’s all good, I remember it kinda pissed me off when I was a kid

The Royals! They’re…, not good.

Yeah well neither are the Twins, both teams will end their losing streaks this weekend

True that. By the way, am I the only one that’s enjoying Jim Kaat as the color commentator? He’s actually pretty good. A little more interesting than Justin Morneau and a lot better than Roy Smalley. I still do like the occasional Tori Hunter game.
