Sanó is pretty solid at first. He has a lot more arm than most first basemen. And did you know that, per Statcast, he has median sprint speed?

When he made the move to 1B, I noted that he was following the defensive progression of Pujols and to a lesser extent, Cabrera. Signed as SS/3B type, outgrew the position, moved to 3B and then to 1B full time. That athleticism helped turn Pujols into a Gold Glover, and Sano has that as well.

I don't know if Sano will get that far, but to me, it's within the realm of possibility.

The one true hallmark of every bad team is the complete inability to capitalize on momentum. Unreal win last night, jump out to a couple 2 run leads tonight...and now we’re behind this inning without giving up a hit.

Sano can be quite agile for being so large. I think if wanted to be a great defensive 1B man he could become one.

This mess is completely on Duffy. The wild pitch cost the run...but the walk and hit batter didn't help. Has to drive a manager nuts when his bullpen comes in to shut things down and instead, they can't throw strikes.

I'd say it's more the giving up a run without a hit or ball leaving the infield part rather than momentum, but what do I know.

That's called beating yourself, which this year's team is incredibly good at.

Does the name Brian Duensing ring a bell?

I meant that if there were ever a time to get going, it’s after pulling off the impossible last night. Had an opportunity to do just that, but we pulled our starter after 5 and the bullpen has failed yet again. meanwhile urquidy just threw his 103rd pitch and finished the 7th

All part of the master plan .

Alrighty, then... I thought this was a pretty obvious spot to put Colome in. What is with this love for Shoemaker?!

He wasn’t good enough to start this game as scheduled, but good enough to enter into a one run game in the 8th

It worked, somehow

Yep - you criticized and they responded, again. Maybe you should coach this team.
