Robo-ump will revolutionize the game for the better. I have seen so many pitchers get screwed by fantastic pitches on the edge called a ball by these unreliable humans. Then they get frustrated and throw the next pitch right down the middle. Same guys will now get a well-deserved K. 

Same thing for "homer" umps that give their side's pitcher a "strike" on some half-wild curve that misses the zone by a foot. Then the hitter is at a disadvantage - where the hell is the strike zone? So they feel obligated to swing at some outside pitch, destroying their eye at the plate.

I was just thinking that Santana's limit might be about 50 pitches right now, after two years of not starting. He looked great. I miss him.

That will happen sometimes. I expect, though, that a more consistent strike zone will help batters more than pitchers. Batting is about timing. Pitching is about disruption. IMO anything that makes the game more predictable should aid batters.

I wonder if he'll get 2,000,000 pennies and if the Boy and Girl Scouts will get to split 2,000,000 Tootsie Rolls.
