LaBombo Verified Member Posted May 15, 2021 Posted May 15, 2021 On a night where he's just barely getting by, Shoemaker has the nerve to stroll toward the dugout assuming strike three on what looked more like a ball than a strike, then sulks back to the mound and immediately gives up a 400 footer. Freaking poetic.
AceWrigley Verified Member Posted May 15, 2021 Posted May 15, 2021 I think Dr. Evil came back from the future and stole the Twins mojo.
AceWrigley Verified Member Posted May 15, 2021 Posted May 15, 2021 thank you Mr. Donaldson. Now we only need 5 more of those.
AceWrigley Verified Member Posted May 15, 2021 Posted May 15, 2021 I see the Dodgers picked up Blankenhorn.
IndianaTwin Verified Member Posted May 15, 2021 Posted May 15, 2021 Welp. There goes the rally. Killed again.

Mill1634 Verified Member Posted May 15, 2021 Author Posted May 15, 2021 Missing on the outside corner as an ump is one thing, but you cannot give anything on the inside corner. This coming from an umpire.

Put him in the bullpen and bring up Dobnak or Thorpe. He didn’t do badly especially considering the starts we’ve had lately. The final homer taints what could have been a decent night. 2 outs and nobody on. He was almost out of it
AceWrigley Verified Member Posted May 15, 2021 Posted May 15, 2021 Gladden, "Polanco will probably make an adjustment here." Next pitch . . . strikeout. Nice adjustment.

Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2021 Posted May 15, 2021 Guys, who are these other SP options instead of shoemaker? Dobnak who just got jacked up in a AAA start? Smeltzer who’s hurt? If we could score more than 1.7 runs a game, perhaps the starters would pitch better

Might as well find out if Thorpe can be a back-end starter / reliever before he's out of options next year. There's just no future for Shoemaker, so no point in having him keep going out there every 5th start.

Tear it down! Trade everyone we can! Our window closed last year! Lose 110+!!!!! Tank for Elijah Green!!!!!!!!!!!!! Start anew! Cleanse the soul!

Those were popular and drew rave reviews last year, right? ?

HokieRif Verified Member Posted May 15, 2021 Posted May 15, 2021 *sigh* The only reason to keep watching any more is for Tortuga extra-base hits, and (when he's healthy) Buxton web gems.
AceWrigley Verified Member Posted May 15, 2021 Posted May 15, 2021 Holy cow. The largest deficit the Twins have overcome in a game this year is one run.

Completely agree, but wanted to add that Shoemaker has rendered the issue of his not having a future irrelevant by not having a present.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2021 Posted May 15, 2021 The twins commentators need to stop with the “bad luck” angle. Every team has bad luck. Don’t insult the intelligence of those of us who’ve watched most of the games
