Another lifeless outing. All in all, I don’t think shoemaker pitched horribly, but he left too many pitches over the zone and the A’s crushed them. How the A’s won today is how the twins beat teams in 2019. Sure stinks to be on the other side of it. Another loss, another day of me questioning when some heat will come on the front office/Rocco/wes Johnson and the hitting coaches. This has been a total system failure. Even worse than 1.0 TSF. If there wasn’t any doubt about it before, it’s gone now. This team is DEAD. Call up Nick Gordon, Dakota Chalmers, Lewis Thorpe, and Dobnak to see what they have so we can make informed decisions on the 2022 roster. Throwing out Derek law, Kyle Garlick (he’s been good, but likely isn’t on the 2022 roster), shoemaker, and Caleb Thielbar do nothing. It’s time for the front office to shift their focus from “winning” to “talent identification, and the sooner the better.

Nice work by the Twins to combine the magic of a West Coast road trip drubbing with the convenience of a central time TV slot.

Yennier Cano with another scoreless outing for the AA ballclub. 27 years old signed just a few years ago. 1.55 ERA, 6.2 IP, 12 K's. Get him up. Now.

Agreed, they should be getting him up to AAA soon and see if he can be ready for a mid/later summer debut.

If for no other reason than to hear Danny Gladden try to say his name.

Yep. I see no reason to let him keep throwing at AA. it’s clear that he’s more than talented enough for that level. Get him up to SP, give him 25-35 innings until the ASG, and if things are still encouraging, get him up. He’s 27 years old and already in the bullpen. It’s not like you’re screwing with his development or ruining a top prospect if you call him up too fast. He pretty much is what he is at this point, whether it turns out to be good or bad. I’d much rather see him get evaluated at the MLB level than Derek law/Shaun Anderson/Brandon Waddell

This is shaping up to be much worse than TSF 1. That team had not made the playoffs the previous year (or previous 5 to be exact) and the roster was worse (on paper). That was the year Byung Ho was the DH

I'll stand by what I've said in earlier discussions of this team. There is talent here and the record should be better. The pieces do not fit together at all. The Twins have a host of LH hitting corner OFs and two second basemen, one of whom is being used in a super-utility role. They have a bullpen where the vacuum at closer has made all the complementary parts worse. They lack speed and on-base skills. They have a lot of veteran players, many in their walk year, who won't be part of a solution in the coming years.
