I was going to say that Buxton needs to steal here, but it's hard to do that when your next batter hits into a GIDP on the very first pitch of the AB.

I know buxton has been hitting tremendously but he’s gotta bunt there.

Why do the Twins never tell Buck to steal??? Or at least a hit and run.

 

This is just an awful situation to hit into a double play.

Stinks that an important game like this (and the White Sox tonight) would be decided on a women’s softball extra inning rule 

 

It has the advantage of potentially expediting losses... like tonight.

Barring a comeback, we deserve every bit of the butt kicking we’re about to get in the WC round. To struggle All season long with the tigers like they’re the ‘61 yanks is inexcusable.

I know Rogers' FIP is good... but he's giving up way too much good contact. This is more than just "bad luck". He's lucky he had Buxton in CF or that's a double.

If they ever do install the extra inning rule permanently, it needs to not happen in September. This isn’t how games should be decided down the stretch

Lol these rules are a joke

Dicknjustin were spouting the fallacy that the runner-on-second rule shortens games. The two teams have an equal chance at scoring whether there's a runner on second or not. It makes it more likely that runs will score but it gives neither team an advantage and therefore does not shorten games.

This is Rogers' 20th appearance of the season. He's only had 5 "clean" innings the whole season.

 

He's given up at least one hit in 14 of 20 and he walked one the other day in a hitless inning. 

 

I would absolutely not trust him in any sort of leverage spot in the playoffs. Even the outs have been awfully loud this year.
