Another absurdity, the Astros are currently 21-21 and they’re a 6 seed, ahead of the 27-17 twins

Everything about the playoffs this season is ridiculous and unfair (for all of the teams that are actually good, at least). It's going to be funny when the Marlins knock the Dodgers out of the first round with a couple of fluky wins.

This year it should be seeded based on winning % only. The only fair way when you don’t play anyone outside the division.

Just gonna let Adrianza and his .174 avg hit here in the 2nd to last inning? I don’t get it

Cave, Adrianza and Gonzalez cannot hit major league pitching, they should be let go. Wade and Astudillo deserve more playing time.

I don't get why Polanco/Buxton/Arraez haven't pinch hit yet over Adrianza or Gonzalez. Those two have been black holes in the lineup recently.

Saving them for the ninth

Guess Polanco can't play two games in a row...

I actually think that this is the best argument for why they set up the seeding the way they did. While schedules are unbalanced between divisions in normal years, they are fully unbalanced this year since you only play against teams in one other division besides your own. Basing the seeding solely on winning % would punish teams that play in better divisions.

Yes but the 1st AND 2nd place teams in each division automatically make it and automatically get a higher seed than a team who finishes third in one division but might have a better record than one of the 2nd place finishers. In this case, the second place team in the east (Toronto) and in the West (Houston) have significantly worse records than the currently third place twins. The twins would be punished for playing in the best division in baseball. I’d much rather be in the 4th of 5th place spot than in 7th, having to play the 2nd best division winner

We're already in the 13th inning, but I was trying to be polite about it.

Some day i will learn this politeness, i hope.

Anyway whileit could happened better, i am glad the player called up for the double header got in the game.
