Mill1634 Verified Member Posted August 6, 2020 Author Posted August 6, 2020 Welp. That was not a great game from Rogers....in fact, it really sucked. Nothing really hit all that hard, but they found holes. I'll take 3 of 4 from the Pirates, but wasn't a huge fan of how we played all series. Kinda seemed like we were sleepwalking and expecting to win. Until tomorrow, Go Twins

bighat Verified Member Posted August 6, 2020 Posted August 6, 2020 3 out of 4 against the Pirates ain't bad.... We won one of those games we should have lost, and we lost one we should've won. I think the main problem I have was with that double to Reynolds, it seemed like the Twins should have had their 3rd baseman playing closer to the line. Were they playing for the double play there? Must have been.
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted August 6, 2020 Author Posted August 6, 2020 That’s what complacency looks like, ladies and gentleman.Yeah, that is the vibe I kind of got too throughout the entire series. We knew we were the better team, and turned it on when we needed to (other than today in the 9th). That isn't going to work out so much against the better teams. Would've really liked that one with the matchup today, especially with Smeltzer going tomorrow, and Odo making his first start Saturday, neither of which are guarantees for good outcomes.

I don't get these complacency charges you and Darius made ... we won 3 out of 4, had a walk off in there, some good plays, some good efforts, some good hits ... so some 'vibe' you feel says complacency? Are you in the dugout or the clubhouse to feel this? If not, it's just putting a spin on a loss without real concrete evidence.
IndianaTwin Verified Member Posted August 6, 2020 Posted August 6, 2020 I really would like to see Buxton hit a gapper with Avila in front of him. Buxton could probably catch him between second and third. That's with Avila starting on second, right?
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted August 6, 2020 Posted August 6, 2020 Huh? Who is complacent? No, he's on first. Perhaps complacent was the pinch hitter?
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted August 6, 2020 Posted August 6, 2020 Anyway, i will take the blame for this... I heard Sano's homer, and decided i could drive to New Hampshire and climb a Mountain. And yeah, just got to the top where i get cell signal again. At least it is sunny and bright, and the only other living things are a few ravens hovering on the wind in the distance.
ashbury Verified Member Posted August 6, 2020 Posted August 6, 2020 If we can't even sweep the Pirates in four, it doesn't bode well for sweeping the Yankees in the postseason either.
Twodogs Verified Member Posted August 7, 2020 Posted August 7, 2020 Well the Twins have a lot of dings right now with Donaldson, Hill, Bailey, and Odo all out at the moment. So have to cut them a little slack. However, those types of losses are bad losses, ones where you pretty much controlled the whole game and then your lock down closer comes in and blows it. I'd rather have seen the twins get their butts kicked in for a whole game and lose rather than lose one like that, especially to a 2 - 10 team. It's even a little different if that happens to a real good team, but still pretty bad. Hopefully it doesn't send them into a tailspin for a few days.
