Good-bye and memories of a long-time Twins fan

My 89 year old Aunt Stella passed away last week.

She was a HUGE Twins fan as evidence by her urn - yes that is a Twins batting helmet!

Aunt Stella used to take the North Star from Brainerd to Target Field a few times a year - even while she was well in her eighties.

She did not need analytics to tell her about the game.  Comments like "they should pinch hit for this player since he can't hit lefties worth a darn" or "Don't bring in so and so to face this guy as he demolishes curve balls" were some of the comments she would astutely make.

Her son gave the family remembrance and closed by saying "now that you are there, "touch-em-all" Mama!'

How appropriate...

I'm not crying...you're crying!  Aunt Stella sounds like a gem.  Your family and Twins Nation lost a good one. RIP Stella.

She sounds like a real winner. Glad she was around for the 101 win season. I'm sure she will say hello to Harmon now that she is in the same place.

Rest in peace Stella. I'm so glad you shared your memories with us. Thank you.

Thanks John!

A story like this reemphasizes how important this team is to so many....

God, family, country and then maybe the Twins.  That kind of puts things in perspective.  May God welcome your Aunt Stella and watch over your family during this difficult time.

Awesome story. My grandpa was the same way. Knew everything about practically every player in the AL. Special people from a special time when baseball was king
