Squirrel Community Moderator Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 After we win the Central, will Rocco play the D squad for the rest of the season? I don't want to go into the Playoffs with a 5 game losing streak. It gets in your head.We did that in 87.
Pius Jefferson Verified Member Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 Can they please step on a throat and have dominating win over a bad team.
Blake Verified Member Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 Cleveland is like a leech I can't pull off...Ish or ick?
Blake Verified Member Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 So, during my foray to Target Field with RiverBrian, we discussed the Central and one thing RB pointed out, and I have to agree, is that Gardy is the wrong manager for the Tigers. Case in point: Why, in this lost season, is Cabrera, who can hardly hobble around the bases, playing? The Tigers have no one else they should be looking at? Gardy appears to be playing to win rather than looking at the youngsters and getting ready for the future.
FlauerPauer Verified Member Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 I know it's just the Tigers, but Dobnak looks like he has stuff that will play in the majors. Not worried about him starting a playoff game.
notoriousgod71 Verified Member Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 I think Smalley has Norris and Verhagen confused with Drysdale and Koufax, although they'll both likely dominate the Twins.
Brian450 Verified Member Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 Who'd have thought Randy Dobnak would presumably be such an important piece and an integral part of our post season success?
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 I seem to recall the Twins hammering ver Hagen not that long ago. Or maybe I’m hammered.
Brian450 Verified Member Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 lol - "I'm not sure where that hit VerHagen."

notoriousgod71 Verified Member Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 I do not think I've ever seen a team get trapped between third and home as often as this one.
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 Here's Verhagen talking about where Rosario's batted ball hit him.
Brian450 Verified Member Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 I seem to recall the Twins hammering ver Hagen not that long ago.Or maybe I’m hammered.I think he got hammered by the Indians the other day... He's gone 7 innings versus us and given up 3 runs now...
FlauerPauer Verified Member Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 That was not good. Cannot leave that run and expect to win against the Yankees.
Pius Jefferson Verified Member Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 The Twins played Mauer last year didn’t they? They won 78 games. A more than 20 game improvement is likely this season.
Brian450 Verified Member Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 The Twins played Mauer last year didn’t they?A bit of a different scenario, as it was Mauer's 'swan song'...
notoriousgod71 Verified Member Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 Catch the ****ing ball. I guess I can't blame the players for not having any urgency when the manager doesn't.
Brian450 Verified Member Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 Son of a gun... same type of error, now made by Sano...
PDX Twin Verified Member Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 This does not look like a championship team. They just don't do the fundamentals!
VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 You know, it's OK to tease Cleveland by falling behind early. It's really not nice to do it to your own fans.
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 They won 78 games. A more than 20 game improvement is likely this season.78 wins. 48 wins. Out of it in July is still out of it in July. Point being the reason they played Mauer and the likely reason the Tigers are playing Cabrera is twofold: he’s still the reason A LOT of fans even watch the games and respecting the player. Gardenhire has said if Miggy wants to play, he’s going to let him play. Molitor may not have said it about Mauer, but I’m sure the same applied.
notoriousgod71 Verified Member Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 And then Sano pulls that play off.
Brian450 Verified Member Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 This does not look like a championship team. They just don't do the fundamentals!Well, an excellent play made by Sano there, knowing Cabrera was running...
VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 Nice dig by the Cronster.
Brian450 Verified Member Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 Cron has been pretty darned good with the glove over there, hasn't he???
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 A bit of a different scenario, as it was Mauer's 'swan song'...That wasn’t really known for sure until after the season. And it isn’t unreasonable to think that Miggy could hang ‘em up after the year and let the Tigers’ insurance pay his salary the next few years (actually, I would bet the Tigers would LOVE that).
Blake Verified Member Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 The Twins played Mauer last year didn’t they? And Molitor is no longer with the team.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted September 25, 2019 Author Posted September 25, 2019 Cron looks pretty close to helpless at the plate.
