VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 So, what all have you got planned for the weekend ... besides watching baseball Working all day at our church food festival -- among others, we'll be serving up Greek, Ukrainian, and Ethiopian dishes.
PDX Twin Verified Member Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 So, what all have you got planned for the weekend ... besides watching baseball About to head up to U of Portland to watch men's football (soccer to provincials). Chilly, but perhaps not rainy. I'll trust you all to bring home the Twins' win; I'll check in after the match.

LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 Stop hitting it to Gordon
mrtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 Note to twins Dont hit it near alex gordon, Joe Mauer found out it dont work,
FlauerPauer Verified Member Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 Smoking brisket. Nice! What type of wood and smoker do you use?
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 Smoking brisket.Hey ... how many Amish donuts have you brought to work this season?
IndianaTwin Verified Member Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 Smoking brisket.Change of plans. I’m going to northern Virginia to look for church food festivals.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 I'm hopefully playing golf both Saturday and Sunday. Domestic helper and Twins watcher otherwise.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 I like that Dobnak doesn't seem phased at all by the big stage. He just goes about his business, works fast, throws stuff that looks good, but not great...every now and then hit a guy...
IndianaTwin Verified Member Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 Nice! What type of wood and smoker do you use?Mesquite. I also look for every opportunity to brag up my son. He actually made the smoker by taking a kettle grill and extending it with a tamale steamer. Drilled the bottom of the steamer full of holes to let the smoke up, a few bolts in the side to hold the racks in place, and he had my Christmas present for something like $25. At some point, I might want to upgrade to a pellet or other smoker, but I can’t bring myself to dis him by doing that.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 Tight, but fair, zone from the home plate ump so far.

NICE! I personally use a propane smoker. Made a brisket a couple weeks ago. Those things can sure be tough. Do you do the tinfoil wrap when you get to the stall? Personally, I don't, but have heard about people doing so.
bighat Verified Member Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 Cron with some nice "D" today, like seeing him back there fielding his position well. Been a nice defensive player all year, really.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 Is having a back pocket out some kind of status symbol or message?
FlauerPauer Verified Member Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 Is having a back pocket out some kind of status symbol or message? Showing that they don't chew tobacco. At least that why Tony Batista did it.
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 Gotta hand it to the Tribe, hope the leads still 4 on MondayHope the lead is still 4 on Sept. 28.
IndianaTwin Verified Member Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 Hey ... how many Amish donuts have you brought to work this season?I didn’t do it this year. But they will be there following a combination of six Twins wins or Cleveland losses. And perhaps after every postseason win. So when I downloaded some photos of them to share on TD, I saved the images in My Photos. When my computer goes to sleep, it cycles through all the photos in that folder. Work colleagues keep asking, “What’s with all the pictures of donuts?”
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 Very winnable game. Magic number should at least be 5 by the end of the night. Go Twins! Go Phillies! At MOST 5.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 Careful time, Dozier is the Royals best overall hitter.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 How is Dobsie throwing over 70 percent strikes, yet walks two guys in one inning?
bighat Verified Member Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 So, what all have you got planned for the weekend ... besides watching baseball Last weekend in Guatemala for a while. Next weekend I'm heading back to the USA for a month. Caught some nasty virus down here a couple weeks ago and I must admit I haven't quite bounced back. Had planned to come back to the USA anyway but now I've got to go see a doc upon arrival. Sucks but thanks to Twins baseball and this board, I have something to distract me while I deal with these lingering symptoms. Should find myself in Minnesota by October 6th, with any luck I'll be watching October Twins baseball while in the great state of MN!

Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 One time at spring training, I was standing there minding my own business watching batting practice, when Tony O comes along and starts chatting with me. Then he asked how were my hands. When I said ‘good’ he tossed me a ball over the fence. It was autographed.Way cool!

Probably not tomorrow, however, since I cut them thing down to a couple smaller pieces in the interest of getting done a little quicker. I’ve only done a half dozen or so, so I feel like I’m still experimenting. So far the experiments have all been reasonably successful. Here’s hoping for tomorrow. I’ll post a picture.
mrtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 Dobnak, hbp and walks = no no Make em put it in play, other than top 4 , dont let the others beat ya
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 I tell ya, Dobnak is destined to be a workhorse starter for the next decade. Good foundation, surprising locations, no fear. He could be a #3 starter for a long time. He does need to work on holding runners, tho.
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 I have several pairs of Fluevogs ... I paid full price for some, but got several of them on sale ... they have really good sales. But now I have a foot condition called hallux rigidus ... the only shoe my feet feel comfortable in are running shoes. High end running shoes. :/Maybe you'll have to give all your other shoes away to a relative or someone.
