Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 I bet they stretch Thorpe out to 100 pitches to be the 4th starter in the Division SeriesHe threw 83 pitches tonight. Not bad for a “bullpen” game and yeah, he’s good -n- stretched out now...
insagt1 Verified Member Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 This is a problem that Twins have had now for several weeks. They can't get the big 2 out hit, while their opponent gets a ton of them...and they are all costly.Throw in the k brigade and we are VERY fortunate we won that first game. We have a few automatic outs in this lineup. Cron can't hit anything anymore. Castro can't hit at all. And Sano has forgotten how to make contact period. But did anyone really think we could win them both? What is surprising is that we won the game no one figured we could win and we are looking real bad in the game we had the best shot at winning. Our hitting has really disappeared, making it so hard for the pitchers.

VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 The hitters aren't helping--13 in a row without a base runner.
LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 Legitimately some of the worst managing I’ve seen in a longggg timeyet he has the first place team
ScrapTheNickname Provisional Member Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 The storm has passed. And what is left in its wake? Houses flattened and cars carried off in a flood.
ScrapTheNickname Provisional Member Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 yet he has the first place teamBut not the best first base team in history by any means.
Richie the Rally Goat Community Moderator Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 Just imagine Lewis Thorpe starting game 4 of the ALDS down 2-1? compared to Perez or Gibson, I’m comforted.
LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 But not the best first base team in history by any means.they have 90 wins with 15 to play, pretty good
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 I’m sure I’m not the first to say this, but letting Thorpe go through the lineup a third time made no sense. 3-2 is a winnable game. Cleveland has a pretty bad bullpen. I had some errands to run midgame...
VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 Stashak might be a keeper as well.

LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 Gotta tip your cap to Carrasco
VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 Still no base runners since Rosario's home run.
VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 Still no base runners since Rosario's home run.And Polanco breaks the streak at 15.
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 5-2 in the 6th is still winnableCertainly. But 3-2 is moreso.
