Liriano was a pretty good pitcher before Anderson filled his head with doubt

He wasn't terrible with soft tossers and sinker ballers. league changed, he didn't adjust. mostly he didn't have much talent to work with. I think he actually maxed the talent od some of our pitchers. The pitchers were just mostly bad to begin with.

Are you sure it wasn't the injury he had in 2006? Looking back, I totally forgot Liriano was starting in Detroit last season, so I guess Anderson kept on doing his "doubt talk" to him.

I agree, but Liriano was a power pitcher and to try to make him a pitch to contact pitcher is total ignorance

Ouch

Assuming you mean Dixon's missed catch, yeah. He paid the price with his ribs anyway. Might as well have caught it.

VerHagen looking pretty nasty tonight outside a few bad pitches

Sailing yet trailing.

The underling of the Summa Cum Poobah.

One step above an excellent Poobah.

Bracketed! Fire for effect!

The underling of the Summa Cum Poobah.

I was wondering if it was the big concert version of an upright Poobah...

But now i'm actualy curious if it predates Gilbert, which certainly predates fraggle rock. And i bet there are more Poobahs out there of which not aware i am.

I don't know, Liriano's troubles seem to have followed him wherever he went. Career walk rate of 4.0, more losses than wins. etc. He was a superstar, got injured, came back and was no longer even close to the same pitcher.

I just think that Anderson was detrimental to Liriano’s advancement and viewed him as a problem child. Even bad Frankie was a better pitcher than Anderson ever was, and his one size fits all pitching philosophy is not good coaching IMO. You have to be able to recognize each players strengths and weaknesses and work with them individually, in that respect I would call Anderson lazy.

I can agree that I'm glad he's gone.

He had the double just came off the bag by an inch for a split second

A faster man would be standing there on second base saying "nice throw".

/ I exaggerate, but not by much
