USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 Polanco hasn't got the arm to pitch, though.have you seen our bullpen?
Bandit34 Provisional Member Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 Well done, Romo. Good pitchers nail that down!
MVP Nick Punto Verified Member Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 Yes-Yes-No?Maybe-Maybe-50/50
Don Walcott Verified Member Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 Polanco hasn't got the arm to pitch, though.Last I checked, he still had both arms.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 Yes-Yes-No?oh I'm ok with the pitchers. HATE that stupid song.
FlauerPauer Verified Member Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 That was a big time comeback and nicely done by Romo. Solid, solid 8th inning.
Bandit34 Provisional Member Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 Pitching is all about disrupting the batter. Anything that makes the game more predictable, even slightly, has to be in the batter's favor. At the same time, the pitchers would be able to aim it at a certain place with certainty that it is a strike. A lot of these missed calls have a huge effect on pitchers too, it seems.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 Teams are collecting the data. They are Ivy leagues types. At some point they will analyze the data and then present the findings. No matter what the data says, they will meet resistance from the remaining old school types . Eventually the wall comes down and BOOM... Automated Strike Zone. None of this means I'm rooting for the other team, but when a young pitcher throws three 100 mph fastballs that dot the upper right, upper left, then lower left corners, it's a damn disgrace that a crappy umpire doesn't give him credit. And don't think that didn't affect his pitches to Polanco, either. At some point a guy gives up and just throws it down the middle if the ump just. won't. call. strikes. on. the. corners.
FlauerPauer Verified Member Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 Marwin doesn't have multiple hits this game? What's going on here?
Don Walcott Verified Member Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 How many times has Smalley used “mantra” in this series?
ashbury Verified Member Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 oh I'm ok with the pitchers. HATE that stupid song.Ignore this tangent. It, like life, is but a dream.
IndianaTwin Verified Member Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 After giving an update on the Giants game, Kris Atteberry just noted that Bruce Bochy will need an oversized plaque in Cooperstown to get his entire head on it. I so wish Gladden would remain on assignment. I know some folks like Gladden, but I think Atteberry and Provis are much more entertaining to listen to. In any case, Atteberry would certainly be more fun to have on TD.

Bandit34 Provisional Member Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 How many times has Smalley used “mantra” in this series?Too bad his name isn't Ray! We could call him the Mantra Ray!
IndianaTwin Verified Member Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 oh I'm ok with the pitchers. HATE that stupid song. You’ve got grandkids with musical toys, huh? Or is trauma from when your kids were young?
PDX Twin Verified Member Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 Marwin doesn't have multiple hits this game? What's going on here? And Arraez has none. Has anyone checked the temperature in the underworld lately?
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 You’ve got grandkids with musical toys, huh? Or is trauma from when your kids were young?Yes
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 Who are you, and what have you done with Ehire Adrianza?
PDX Twin Verified Member Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 And Arraez has none. Has anyone checked the temperature in the underworld lately? Trying really, really, really hard not to comment on the temperature in the game's location, though as a former Texas resident ... Well, I won't go there!
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 Anybody else notice that Adrianza is channeling Arraez at the plate? Looking around at the infield, tucking his chin over his shoulder... and slapping a single oppo to left center!
MVP Nick Punto Verified Member Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 Who are you, and what have you done with Ehire Adrianza? Why are you prying into their personal lives? Mind your business.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 do we know that box on tv matches the upper and lower edge of Sano's strike zone?Nope, but the zone will match perfectly with Robo Ump.
Bandit34 Provisional Member Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 It's a good thing that Adrianza is still one of the slowest runners on the team because otherwise I would begin to wonder if that's the real Adrianza on the field getting multiple hits! Remember him in the first two months of the season? One of the worst hitting spells in the history of Baseball! In the history! You have to give credit to Ehire for working on his game! Good hitting from him!
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 Nope, .then we have no idea whether he "dotted" any upper or lower corner.
MVP Nick Punto Verified Member Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 IF auto strike zone was to be implemented, would they tailor it to every individual batter? Do we know?
