Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2019 Posted August 10, 2019 Total collapse. At least it’s happening in early August and not late September
MNT1996 Verified Member Posted August 10, 2019 Posted August 10, 2019 Energy just seems off with this team right now
operation mindcrime Verified Member Posted August 10, 2019 Posted August 10, 2019 First game with Cruz on the IL and Garver sitting AGAIN. Garver has been on the bench for six of the past nine games and has started just 30 of 59 games since June 1. This is weird. He probably has some performance bonuses they don't want him to attain!

Battle ur tail off Verified Member Posted August 10, 2019 Posted August 10, 2019 No one on this team is pitching. It’s pretty obvious the team gave up after the trade deadline. They know their owner and FO could care less about them or their fans
MNT1996 Verified Member Posted August 10, 2019 Posted August 10, 2019 It would be nice to start scoring runs when we're not down by 6
operation mindcrime Verified Member Posted August 10, 2019 Posted August 10, 2019 Wow Castro opposite field!!!!
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2019 Posted August 10, 2019 We'll always have May.And he cost us at least 4 games by my count
MNT1996 Verified Member Posted August 10, 2019 Posted August 10, 2019 Would've been so nice to see Jaylin Davis up instead of Cave. I can't believe we gave him away.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2019 Posted August 10, 2019 Energy just seems off with this team right nowThat’ll happen when you get outclassed 4 games in a row
operation mindcrime Verified Member Posted August 10, 2019 Posted August 10, 2019 We'll always have May.Yeah maybe we can convert him back to a starter! I think what you really meant to say is we'll always have Gibson!
TwinsCD Verified Member Posted August 10, 2019 Posted August 10, 2019 The Twins pissed away a 11.5 game lead in less than 2 months. Yikes When games ended on June 3, the Twins were 40-18 and Cleveland was 29-30. Since that nite, Cleveland has gone 40-16. So they got just as hot in the last 56 games as the Twins did to start the season. I wouldn't call it pissing away a lead. I'd call it the other team scorching the field. But if you want to give up, go for it.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2019 Posted August 10, 2019 We'll always have May.And a highly ranked farm system, and financial flexibility!
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2019 Posted August 10, 2019 That's the thing with going on a crazy tear in April-May... being the best team in the first half of the season is fun, but you don't win championships that way. You win them when you get hot late in the season, and carry the momentum into the playoffs. I don't know how many times I've seen in the MLB and NFL teams had world-beating first halves just to peter out in the second half. The Twins desperately need a kick in the pants to get things going.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted August 10, 2019 Posted August 10, 2019 Swing at balls, look at strikes.

yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted August 10, 2019 Posted August 10, 2019 Ladies and gentlemen, Devin Smeltzer. As of August 9, 2019, he is YOUR Minnesota Twins 2020 # 2 starting pitcher. There was an awful lot of praise heaped onto Wes Johnson in the first half, given the success of Perez, Odorizzi, et al. So, when does he start taking heat for the utter collapse of this pitching staff? That is all I have for tonight folks. yarnivek. Out.
jz7233 Provisional Member Posted August 10, 2019 Posted August 10, 2019 Indians showed stringing hits together is the way to win games. Twins hitters have been trying to hit it out every at bat.

Right now the only names I can think of are Odorizzi and Harper. Once again, our pitching development has been lackluster...

jz7233 Provisional Member Posted August 10, 2019 Posted August 10, 2019 I would not trust Duffey with men on base. He always has a reputation to let inherited runners score.

Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2019 Posted August 10, 2019 Still waiting for the pitching geniuses to do something that really matters in a positive way. Aim low, achieve low.

I know we love to rag on the Twins, but Cleveland looks legit.
