After the fiasco of the last thread, pro tip: don’t do something that stands out, otherwise people develop expectations, I realized that I needed to see if I could bring a bit more culture to Twins Daily. Well, okay, not so much realized as had a couple of people think poetry was on the groovy side.*

*By fiasco, I mean something people wish to see more of. Unless they were just humoring me, in which case, the jokes on them!

 

**What do mean it's not culture? Says, "Culture Club" right there! 

 

Now, for the groovy part:*

Some random thoughts. (You actually got this far? I'm impressed with your ability to battle your tail off and get after it!)

 

1. If I could have pulled off Iambic Pentameter, I would have. Unfortunately, I have no idea what that even means.

2. Free verse was also an option. Just as quickly, it became not an option.

3. Limericks are passe.

4. Haiku was done in the comments last time. 

 

Oh, wow, there's absolutely no baseball in this opener. What to do, what to do?

 

Ah, I know, Lineups:

 

 

Make no mistake about it. this is a huge series and will probably set the tone for the rest of the season. These are two very good, but flawed, teams. I am really looking forward to the series because I expect it should be some high drama baseball.

I really dislike Sano at third with Adrianza at first. Sano is a considerably taller target at first and Adrianza has more range at third. It’s making two positions weaker. And frankly, Cron should be playing over Marwin anyway.

 

Gonzalez couldn’t hit himself out of a wet paper bag the way he’s been the last month or so.

To steal a take from Aaron Gleeman, I really wish they'd start working Garver in at 1B to keep him in the lineup more often. I get that he's much better against lefties, but he's still OPSing .875 against righties with a 123 WRC+. Adrianza vs. righties has a 90 WRC+, and Gonzalez is even worse against righties with a 80 WRC+.

Last series Laz Diaz seemed to call a strike on a ball, only after Max aggressively jumped out of the box presuming he drew a walk. Seemed to happen again there, ump didn’t react until after Kepler did.

I hope Happy Feet doesn't go to that when there's a runner on 3rd because if he does, that runner better be going and he'd steal home without a throw.  It's ridiculous that the rules of the game allow for all that movement in his motion.

I've been posting that here for about a month. He would be the number 1 hitting (and probably fWAR) 1B in all of baseball, and yet he's playing half the time.....and he's playing the position most likely to result in injury. I get Mauer Deja Vu.....
