Starting pitching is really starting to worry me. Sure we might make the playoffs but facing the Astros or Yankees first round is gonna be pretty sketchy if we get similar starts to the ones the Twins are getting right now

To face the Yankees or Astros the Twins likely have to beat the Red Sox, A’s or Rays. I don’t like their chances against any of those teams. Not with this bullpen.

I've been trying real hard to get behind Gibson. And to be fair, he's had some good games this year.

Everyone I talk to at work who asks me about the Twins, when I go thru the rotation, I always say the same thing about Gibson -- can't be trusted.  Almost like it should be part of his name.

Can’t walk so many guys. That was another terrible pitching effort. That’s 3 games in a row now of bad pitching. Done with May. No more high leverage situations. From here on out in close games or games against real teams, it’s Rogers, Romo, and I want our 100mph kid from the minors.

 

The FO failed this team so now you gonna need to ask a ton more out of the 5-6 guys on this entire staff that are any good

With the inconsistent home plate umpiring and bad pitching, it's incredible that the Twins were able to put themselves in a position to either tie or win the game with one swing, late in the game. 

 

Exciting finish and disappointing loss, but hopefully the Twins find a way to start winning these close games soon.

 

Pitching absolutely has to get better.

Our starting pitching is not playoffs worthy. It's over this Twins team was failed by the front office. They new we needed starting pitching and did nothing.

Pretty much. And now the MN sports gods take Nelson Cruz because that was too much fun for a while. If the Indians gain the lead this week-end they're not giving it back. We're headed for a WC game against Tampa or Oakland and swift Divisional exit if we make it that far.

The last report I heard was day to day, but I have a hard time believing he avoids the IL. If Rooker was healthy, I’d say here’s your chance kid. Let’s see what you can do. As it is, unless Astudillo makes a miraculous recovery, the only real choice is Nick Gordon.
