Doubtful. Adrianza has no trade value. There are Adrianza clones freely available throughout AAA.

It's possible the team invited some scouts to come and watch him, I suppose. If true, him being traded is probably pretty far along.

 

As poor as his bat is, he is still a good defender. This seems pretty early for a team to be looking for a good defender, but another team could be looking to dump salary.

 

They also could be just giving him more playing time. If so, it seems to be working. Yesterday was his best day all year.

I doubt Adrianza has significant trade value; some low-A lottery ticket at best, if our FO can locate two teams who would make a waiver claim. But I likewise see the additional playing time in light of the coming roster decision. My interpretation is they intend to DFA/trade Adrianza and want to do it with the best information they can glean as to his in-game performance. Due diligence, IOW.

 

And to his credit, Ehire has come through in these past three days, at least with decent stats, even though my memory is of him leaving guys on base.
