h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2019 Posted April 20, 2019 Perhaps he's throwing more off-speed stuff. Average velo only tells part of the story. Fastball velo. Definitely down. Maybe he didn't get the heel leg memo.
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2019 Posted April 20, 2019 That was a tough pitch to hit by Buxton. Strike three is he doesn't swing. Well, maybe, after all, an umpire is calling the game.He did the smart thing and went with it though. Close pitch with two strikes too. He was probably protecting the plate.
Don Walcott Verified Member Posted April 20, 2019 Posted April 20, 2019 I’d like to see more throws to second by Yacabonis.
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2019 Posted April 20, 2019 Fastball velo. Definitely down. Maybe he didn't get the heel leg memo. Are those the fastball velo numbers he's talking about? He wasn't that specific that I saw. In any case, perhaps he's still building up to his mid season velo? I don't know...I'm half talking out of butt. I'll admit it!
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2019 Posted April 20, 2019 Come on, Nelson. All you have to do is hit.
ashbury Verified Member Posted April 20, 2019 Posted April 20, 2019 Great AB by Buck!!I especially enjoyed watching their rag-arm in CF lollipop it into the infield on that double. Probably Buxton had it made anyway, but this made it not even a doubt.
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2019 Posted April 20, 2019 Come on, Nelson. All you have to do is hit. Mission accomplished.

yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted April 20, 2019 Posted April 20, 2019 Why Rocco lets Berrios continues to pitch This is the kind of game that makes Berrios an ace. He’s clearly off his game. But he’s given the team at least 5 innings - hopefully 6 and he has a lead.
Don Walcott Verified Member Posted April 20, 2019 Posted April 20, 2019 Nice catch!! This outfield defense is awesome!
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2019 Posted April 20, 2019 3 homers. Damn, Jose. And 2 off his curve. That last one was a real hanger. Something seems up with him. He is pretty hitable with the lower velo.

bighat Verified Member Posted April 20, 2019 Posted April 20, 2019 Eddie Rosario looking to pick up an AL Player of the Week award if he keeps this up. Here's hoping the Twins can close this one out - Eddie's been carrying this team just like he did last year!
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted April 20, 2019 Posted April 20, 2019 Looks like they moved the start time back tomorrow. Heads up move. It would be rough to have teams playing three full games in a span of 24 hours.

You can't win MLB games with minor league prospects. How are those guys from Houston doing from the trade for Pressly? Yup. Still deep in the minors while our bullpen suffers.
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted April 20, 2019 Posted April 20, 2019 Not sure Hildenberger will know what to do coming in with no one on base.
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2019 Posted April 20, 2019 What the hell was Smith doing even swinging at that pitch!?
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted April 20, 2019 Posted April 20, 2019 Not sure Hildenberger will know what to do coming in with no one on base.Looks like the answer to that, is, “put guys on base”
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2019 Posted April 20, 2019 Not sure Hildenberger will know what to do coming in with no one on base. Not give up any inherited runs. That's a relief. (ha)He will have to take credit for them instead of passing them on to his teammate.
