May has thrown a combined what, 30 innings, since 2016? That's including his rehab.

 

Of course he's not going to be sharp. He shouldn't be the call in a spot like that anyway. Yes, he's looked good so far, but sss. TJ recovery does a lot of weird things to the arm as it gets back into gameday shape (see Nathan, Joe).

At AAA. Until he can do it against major leaguers, I don't see any purpose in bringing him back up.

How will you know when he can hit major leaguers unless you bring him up to find out?

I’ll grant that Erv should not have started the inning or at least been removed after the lead off hitter reached.

May is going to be over 40 pitches. He’ll need two days minimum. Maybe 3. Wouldn’t be surprised if he is replaced with a fresh arm tomorrow. Are Belisle’s 10 days up?

Yes, but this isn't May at his best. He's still in recovery mode. Save that role for 2019 and let him get some innings in right now.

Better Half is out of town. 2 crappy teams on a Thursday night. Scored a cheaper ticket in section 111 on the aisle. What could go wrong? Erv kinda put a damper on my night. Not even through the 6th.
