Now that we've made it past the trade deadline, I wonder if the FO will look into giving Gibson an extension as LEN suggested.

Sano is looking better at the plate... good stuff so far.

with the bottom of the order coming up, I'm all for old school...Get 'em over, get 'em in

Increased odds of success with Cave being the pivotal batter

No, you decrease your odds of scoring multiple runs, which is what you need in teh second inning.

seventh inning or later? sure, sacrifice in a tight game.....but never in the second (unless the P is up)

Is it just me or did Torii Hunter just start one of the dumbest conversations by a color announcer? Miguel Sano doesn't have another RH power hitter in the lineup, so Tyler Austin is supposed to be the answer to that. Nevermind that Dozier was in the lineup every day until today. Morneau just plays along, because he's nice.

Whoa now, Torii. Sano was sent down to High A a few months ago. It might be a little early to say that him losing some weight is going to turn him into Mike Trout.

Why? He's a pitcher. You have to wait until sometime next year, imo. Injury risk is just too great.

Also, how many years are you willing to give up if you are Gibson? And, how many years are you willing to extend if you are MN? He's over 30......

I'd be ok with a three year deal, but not love doing it before next year's ASB.

Now Sano is a 5-tool, Mike Trout level player. C'mon Torii. OK, Dick, kick Morneau out of the booth and get to condescending Torii.

I predict Sano is the best hitter the rest of this year for the Twins. I know, low bar at this point.....but still. I'll go so far as one of the five best 3B in all of the majors the rest of the year.

Why yes, yes I did drink with dinner, why do you ask?

Ok...after those just completed AB's by Ehire and Caveman I stand by OP

IF (that's a big if for the Twins) you have players who can hit play for the big inning

When you have guys that don't swing at pitches right down the heart then swing at balls out of the zone get a run anyway you can

1 is still more than 0 and you can't get to 2 without getting 1

btw...appeared like Ehire did that on his own for a hit

I hate to talk about the game, but is anyone else wondering why Polanco and Adrianza aren’t switched in the field?

My guess is, there is a pretty good chance Polanco is the starting SS next year, and very little chance Adrianza is starting anywhere next year. Why would you take Polanco off short?

Agreed, Polanco should be the SS unless they bring in someone who's a very good defender at SS and then move Polanco to 2B. [also, I can see Nick Gordon ending up at 2B, so keeping Jorge at short would be ideal.]

Ditto...but watching Ehire I'm not so sure he's a fit at the keystone (why do they call it that) position

I'm not convinced this is the case, but if that is the intent then I agree with you completely.

well, let me put it this way...I HOPE Adrianza isn't the planned starter next year.

If you're gonna walk him on the first 3 pitches why throw a strike...just walk the guy

I don't mind starting the AB by trying to pitch to him, but once it's 2-0, just walk the guy.

I think a new episode of FiF is on now...maybe that can be the Twins theme for the rest of the year and the youngsters are Forged in Fire

I wasn't thinking he'd be the guy, but I'm not convinced Polanco will be either.

If this team has taught you anything, it's that it's tough to win scoring only 1 run.

Unless you are Fernando Rodney?
