Pressly traded....

If he's as good as people say he is, then I hope we got some A- to B+ prospects for him.  Truthfully, I'm not upset to see him go.

We basically played with a 23 man roster today and had 6 starters. I guess Molly didn't have a ton of options, but I probably would have used Magill in the 10th.

Waiting for Mollie to think out of the box once in a while.....Hildy breazed thru the 8th- why not use him?

Especially if........

1.) Rodney pitched in 4 of 5 days (games?)

2.) Pressly not available

This team (fill in the blanks)........

I agree with Chief. Who really wants to win?

By sending Pressley to Houston, Falvine has finally tipped its hand by fully revealing the Reverse Beane Gambit... forcibly removing the good options from the manager in order to leave him no choice but to use the bad ones even more...

bringing in Belisle , over Pressley, wheres the logic??????????

What makes it worse is he often pitched Pressly in games with a nice 3-4 run lead.

I fear there is enough truth to that statement that I cannot hit the like button.

What would everyone say if we were 2 games out, and this disgraceful, winnable game happened?

Pressly gone? Does this mean more Belisle? Arggh....

Trading Escobar and Pressly is one thing. But if Falvine tries to trade Belisle or M F Wilson, Molitor will draw a line in the sand. Believe me.

I'm trying to square the FO trading Pressly and keeping Belisle.

The FO appears to be writing off this year. So, keeping Belisle means using up a roster spot that should go to a younger player who needs MLB experience.

I would bet a lot of money a Molitor knew they had a deal, or were close, before the media did.

And playing a game in Boston, down a player, AND with six starters on the roster, is pretty lame, IMO.

This from the article in the STrib:

“Though rumors of potential deals have circulated all month, the trade shocked the Twins, who first learned of it from the big-screen TV in the middle of their clubhouse as they went through their daily pregame rituals in the visitors clubhouse at Fenway Park. Even manager Paul Molitor was taken by surprise. Escobar was in the Twins’ posted lineup, and when the news broke during the manager’s daily pregame media session, he initially dismissed it, saying “I don’t know about it. It sounds like a rumor.””

I believe this indicates the FO doesn't have a high degree of confidence in Mr. Molitor if the FO isn't keeping the manager in the loop.

I think during the MacPhail/Kelly years, Kelly and MacPhail worked pretty closely together.

How is Rosario out on that double play? Pearce is lying over the bag before Rosario gets there. That has to be obstruction.

I think the fact the ball was there before him keeps it from being obstruction.

He did slow down, and that might have changed things had he not...

And regarding selling and buying, i think this front office does its own thing. If we win out the month of July, Cleveland loses out, mayhap we'll flip one or two of our prospects we just got to fill a percieved need?

I don't know, but it happened last year after a fashion, so not inconceivable...

If that happens, can we trade w/ the DBacks: Adrianza for Escobar

Interestingly, that may the one time where a head first slide into first base is warranted. He can’t run through the base, and spike Pearce in the back. So dive head first into Pearce and then they have a clear argument that he was obstructed.
