Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2018 Posted July 28, 2018 That’s an absolute killer right there
BoofBonser Verified Member Posted July 28, 2018 Posted July 28, 2018 That is just bullcrapIf he's not on top of the bag Eddie's there
S. Verified Member Posted July 28, 2018 Posted July 28, 2018 Well, that was certainly an unusual way to do a double play.
Don Walcott Verified Member Posted July 28, 2018 Posted July 28, 2018 Can you block first base like that?
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted July 28, 2018 Posted July 28, 2018 Yesterday was a 1 run game. I am no longer concerned about 1 run games...
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted July 28, 2018 Posted July 28, 2018 Dunno if that was a “great” double play so much as a “series of bad throws that somehow worked out”, Dick.
tvagle Verified Member Posted July 28, 2018 Posted July 28, 2018 Eddie was too nice there...should have ran right up his back..as long as he doesn't break an ankleI would ask about impeding the runner or some other legaleze
BoofBonser Verified Member Posted July 28, 2018 Posted July 28, 2018 Eddie should've just cleated him... way too important of a play for that sh*t
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2018 Posted July 28, 2018 If there was one guy I would have wanted up at that situation, it was ed and he still gidp
tvagle Verified Member Posted July 28, 2018 Posted July 28, 2018 Run through/over him and force the ump to make a call
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted July 28, 2018 Posted July 28, 2018 Eddie should've just cleated him... way too important of a play for that sh*tThat was the right move. The runner has more of a chance of serious injury than a guy taking a cleat in the leg or back.
BoofBonser Verified Member Posted July 28, 2018 Posted July 28, 2018 What constitutes obstruction on a play like that? Does it have to be intentional?
S. Verified Member Posted July 28, 2018 Posted July 28, 2018 That was the right move. The runner has more of a chance of serious injury than a guy taking a cleat in the leg or back.Agreed, lot of potential of hurting something in your knee/ankle/foot/leg on an awkward step onto a player. Was no good choice for him there, but he made the correct one.
tvagle Verified Member Posted July 28, 2018 Posted July 28, 2018 I can guarantee that Rosario was not at full speed...may have beaten the throw
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted July 28, 2018 Posted July 28, 2018 Very nice inning from Rogers. Not sure why he hasn't been used lately.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted July 28, 2018 Posted July 28, 2018 Maybe it's my anti- East Coast bias seeping through, but I'm of the firm opinion that if the teams were reversed on that DP, any Red Sox baserunner would have happily given a sprawled Logan Morrison a Nike-oscopy whether his health plan covered it or not.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted July 28, 2018 Posted July 28, 2018 123 inning. Now back to business. It's business time
Blake Verified Member Posted July 28, 2018 Posted July 28, 2018 6 innings by Lynn, two runs for the Sox? I'd have taken that in a heartbeat. Bullpen's got this, right?
LaBombo Verified Member Posted July 28, 2018 Posted July 28, 2018 I can guarantee that Rosario was not at full speed...may have beaten the throwAs much as I didn't like the play, I'm just glad Eddie didn't get hurt either breaking stride like he did, or leaving a nice big footprint on Pearce like he could have.
tvagle Verified Member Posted July 28, 2018 Posted July 28, 2018 Agreed, lot of potential of hurting something in your knee/ankle/foot/leg on an awkward step onto a player. Was no good choice for him there, but he made the correct one. Agree but Disagree...that was the tying run play Agree it was the safe play and he is way too valuable to loseDisagree because it would have tied the game and every game matters
twins_89 Verified Member Posted July 28, 2018 Posted July 28, 2018 6 innings by Lynn, two runs for the Sox? I'd have taken that in a heartbeat. Bullpen's got this, right? I'm actually a lot more worried about being able to score a couple more runs than I am about the bullpen.
VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted July 28, 2018 Posted July 28, 2018 That's gotta be a fake beard Kimbrel is wearing, right?
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted July 28, 2018 Posted July 28, 2018 Agree but Disagree...that was the tying run play Agree it was the safe play and he is way too valuable to loseDisagree because it would have tied the game and every game matters Baseball is a 162 game season. For the same reason I get pissed at Buxton for running into the wall to catch a third inning out, I don’t want to see the best hitter on the team turn an ankle just to step on a guy.
tvagle Verified Member Posted July 28, 2018 Posted July 28, 2018 Back to Back Jacks and Boston will trade for Duke between innings
tvagle Verified Member Posted July 28, 2018 Posted July 28, 2018 Can Duke pitch the 8th for the Twins...and the 9th for Boston?
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2018 Posted July 28, 2018 4 pitch walk. Might as well swing at the first pitch, joe.
tvagle Verified Member Posted July 28, 2018 Posted July 28, 2018 Two Veteran AB's by the Doze and Joe (LoMo takes 4 straight and Joe jumps the first pitch)
