TwinsCD Verified Member Posted July 26, 2018 Posted July 26, 2018 Shifting Joe Mauer to the right field side. At least he's one hitter who can go the other way and tear that shift apart.
gil4 Verified Member Posted July 26, 2018 Posted July 26, 2018 Brian Johnson would normally be a nondescript, ho-hum everyman name. EXCEPT FOR AC/DC!Even then he's just the guy who replaced Bon Scott.
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted July 26, 2018 Posted July 26, 2018 Need a win today with Sale throwing tomorrow
TwinsCD Verified Member Posted July 26, 2018 Posted July 26, 2018 Dammit Joe, get the rocks out of your pocket!!
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted July 26, 2018 Posted July 26, 2018 Why send him...JBJ arm is amazing.
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted July 26, 2018 Posted July 26, 2018 If there is one player I want to not survive the trade deadline, it is Robbie Grossman.
gil4 Verified Member Posted July 26, 2018 Posted July 26, 2018 Why send him...JBJ arm is amazing. NOW you tell us.

Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2018 Posted July 26, 2018 RRRK - Return of Robby the Rally Killer He left? Huh. On another topic, when someone mentioned Top Gun, I got all excited thinking about Top Secret....I probably giggled some....
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted July 26, 2018 Posted July 26, 2018 Ouch. We might want Cameron Rupp back
gil4 Verified Member Posted July 26, 2018 Posted July 26, 2018 You know, it didn't occur to me till today that I could very well have umpired baseball games that Kepler played in Germany as a kid. I umpired a ton of youth baseball from younger kids all the way till high school kids and even some games with older players. And I umpired all over Germany in the summers of 2005 and 2006.Did you call any games at Spang? In 2005 all our games were at Spang. I think my oldest played games all over Germany in 2006, but I was "deployed" that year and missed all but the first game. (Aviano - one of those hardship deployments.)
David HK Verified Member Posted July 26, 2018 Posted July 26, 2018 Arrrrgh, the dreaded soft-tossing lefty. And we didn't waste him in the 1st, when we had a chance. That's probably all the hits we get tonight...
ashbury Verified Member Posted July 26, 2018 Posted July 26, 2018 Is Cuzzi umpiring 3B? :-)No, but he was at third base in Philly yesterday. And yes, he got a call over turned. #baseballroadtrip

(Aviano - one of those hardship deployments.)yes, I was stationed at SpangA majority of the games I umpired were on and around Spangdahlem and Bitburg. I also umpired men's and women's softball and the little league girls regional softball qualifying tournament in '06. In fact for the military women's league in Spang AB, I was the only qualified umpire durung their '05 season until the season was almost over. I umped all those games.
TwinsCD Verified Member Posted July 26, 2018 Posted July 26, 2018 If there is one player I want to not survive the trade deadline, it is Robbie Grossman. I wouldn't mind adding Bobby Wilson to that list.
TwinsCD Verified Member Posted July 26, 2018 Posted July 26, 2018 No, but he was at third base in Philly yesterday. And yes, he got a call over turned. And that call was right in front of him and he had zero reason to miss it. Hmmmm, sounds eerily familiar.
ashbury Verified Member Posted July 26, 2018 Posted July 26, 2018 Dammit Joe, get the rocks out of your pocket!!I'm not a Gene Glynn fan. One out, slow slow runner, go conservative.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2018 Posted July 26, 2018 Is Blake Swihart playing to try to get MN to trade for him? He almost never plays, does he?
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted July 26, 2018 Posted July 26, 2018 Gibby doesn't seem to have his best stuff tonight
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2018 Posted July 26, 2018 I'm not a Gene Glynn fan. One out, slow slow runner, go conservative. And with the hottest hitter coming up and 1out.
ashbury Verified Member Posted July 26, 2018 Posted July 26, 2018 Is Blake Swihart playing to try to get MN to trade for him? He almost never plays, does he?Well he already has a botch on a pitch, so Molitor probably vetoes.
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted July 26, 2018 Posted July 26, 2018 Wow. What a throw. Not an easy play to make.
ashbury Verified Member Posted July 26, 2018 Posted July 26, 2018 Great throwConcur. We have perfect seats to see that'un develop. Sometimes cheap seats are best.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted July 27, 2018 Posted July 27, 2018 Both fun and a little sad to see Mauer have a rare chance to flash that exceptional arm with the nice throw to third. Sigh.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted July 27, 2018 Posted July 27, 2018 Both fun and a little sad to see Mauer have a rare chance to flash that exceptional arm with the nice throw to third. Sigh. clearly he should pitch at least once in his career?
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted July 27, 2018 Posted July 27, 2018 Both fun and a little sad to see Mauer have a rare chance to flash that exceptional arm with the nice throw to third. Sigh.Seriously. Mauer throwing out baserunners is a distant memory now...

jimmer Verified Member Posted July 27, 2018 Posted July 27, 2018 So many annoying Comm guys, can't picture you :-).I was one of the two umpires who umpired all the mens playoff games in 2005(or was it the 2006 season I did that). I was chunky during the '05 season. Blond hair with a flat top. I lost 40 pounds before the 06 season started. I also ran Hazmart, so you might know me that way too.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted July 27, 2018 Posted July 27, 2018 clearly he should pitch at least once in his career? For sure, just as long as everyone (including Joe) understands that we're not asking him to replace the unforgettable Chris Gimenez in our hearts...
