Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted June 19, 2018 Posted June 19, 2018 Motter in RF. WTF?I need to whip up a new Infielders in the Outfield poster with Motter on it... I've read that Motter is a pretty good defensive infielder, so seeing him premier as a starter in the outfield is pretty disappointing. Can we get Cave back up here and DFA Grossman?
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted June 19, 2018 Posted June 19, 2018 Motter in RF. WTF?Motter is a German word, meaning "Kepler's backup"
Platoon Verified Member Posted June 19, 2018 Posted June 19, 2018 Our cleanup hitter is 4-41 in his last 12 games. Makes me wonder what the 8&9 guys are hititng?
Platoon Verified Member Posted June 19, 2018 Posted June 19, 2018 Motter is a German word, meaning "Kepler's backup" Actually when I saw he was out there, I added an F word behind Motter. Worked well!
drock2190 Verified Member Posted June 19, 2018 Posted June 19, 2018 On the bright side, you can tune out of a lot of innings the Twins bat because you know nothing of note is going to happen.
Otto von Ballpark Old-Timey Member Posted June 20, 2018 Posted June 20, 2018 When they coined the phrase 'Muderers Row', I don't think this is what they had in mind? Well if nothing else, the clamor to move Dozier into a middle of the order hitter has been assuaged. You know, an actual "murderer's row" might just be awaiting execution, and feeling pretty despondent...
jun Verified Member Posted June 20, 2018 Posted June 20, 2018 I thought Kepler has been hitting lefties better than righties this season, why is he not in the lineup tonight? Molitor gets creative again? Play to lose?
Brandon Brooks Verified Member Posted June 20, 2018 Posted June 20, 2018 I thought Kepler has been hitting lefties better than righties this season, why is he not in the lineup tonight? Molitor gets creative again? Play to lose? He is hitting lefties better, but he's also hitting .087 in his last seven games and .137 in June.
jun Verified Member Posted June 20, 2018 Posted June 20, 2018 He is hitting lefties better, but he's also hitting .087 in his last seven games and .137 in June.Sure, but I doubt Motter is going to do better against Sale...
Han Joelo Verified Member Posted June 20, 2018 Posted June 20, 2018 Motter in RF. WTF?Just quoting because that lineup deserves to appear over and over in this thread. I used this reference for something else once, but I'm reminded again of that Seinfeld episode when Kramer gets a hot tip at the racetrack. To paraphrase: "Motter's in RF?" "You heard me. His mother was a Motter. His father's a Motter." I'm betting on Motter to do something extraordinary. Plus his name is a mishmash of MOokiee BeTTs KeplER.
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted June 20, 2018 Posted June 20, 2018 Red Sox have 49 wins on June 19. Orioles are on a pace to have 46 wins by Sept. 30.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted June 20, 2018 Posted June 20, 2018 Bad news: Berrios lost the no-hitter (infield hit, of course) Good news: Cy Young award still in play
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted June 20, 2018 Posted June 20, 2018 OK boys, your starter manned up in the top of 1. Now it's time for the batters to man up in the bottom of 1.
Blake Verified Member Posted June 20, 2018 Posted June 20, 2018 I have to admit, I liked Morris' comment about stealing signs.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted June 20, 2018 Posted June 20, 2018 time for the batters to man up, Part II
David HK Verified Member Posted June 20, 2018 Posted June 20, 2018 time for the batters to man up, Part IIThis will be good practice to refresh oneself on the good ol' Roman Numerals.
FlauerPauer Verified Member Posted June 20, 2018 Posted June 20, 2018 Grossman sucks. Time to move on from him.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted June 20, 2018 Posted June 20, 2018 This will be good practice to refresh oneself on the good ol' Roman Numerals. If it gets to bottom IX ... that's bad
FlauerPauer Verified Member Posted June 20, 2018 Posted June 20, 2018 I'm sure Lamonte Wade can produce at least a .700 OPS.
drock2190 Verified Member Posted June 20, 2018 Posted June 20, 2018 Its like Chris Sale was demoted and facing a Triple A lineup.
David HK Verified Member Posted June 20, 2018 Posted June 20, 2018 I hate the Red Sox with an abiding, irrational passion. I may hate them more than the Evil Empire. I hate Sale, too, but we used to own him more often than not when his Sox were White. Let's kill 'em boys, even with this crappy lineup.
David HK Verified Member Posted June 20, 2018 Posted June 20, 2018 If it gets to bottom IX ... that's badIf you say "IX" phonetically, I think everyone would understand that, too.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted June 20, 2018 Posted June 20, 2018 Ok, that's kind of like walking Buxton right now ...
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted June 20, 2018 Posted June 20, 2018 Everyone knows Garver is not the best framer, but that's just bad umpiring He was looking right down at it
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted June 20, 2018 Posted June 20, 2018 Also, passed balls 'n stuff
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted June 20, 2018 Posted June 20, 2018 I know the strike zone superimposed on the video feed isn't sacrosanct, but it looks like this umpire is squeezing Berrios.
David HK Verified Member Posted June 20, 2018 Posted June 20, 2018 Let's see, I'm just trying to figure here..... This is game # LXIX, so still counting this one, there are XCIV left.... Times IX.... Holy Cow, it's like DCCCXLVI !!! ODM! (Oh Deus Meus)! And if you say that phonetically, you get kind of a puke sound.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted June 20, 2018 Posted June 20, 2018 Interesting strategy giving the Red Sox 2 free bases with sale pitching.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted June 20, 2018 Posted June 20, 2018 I know the strike zone superimposed on the video feed isn't sacrosanct, but it looks like this umpire is squeezing Berrios.Berrios is also all over the place.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted June 20, 2018 Posted June 20, 2018 My gut says Berrios just needs to bring the heat tonight, dead red, just like that. Mix in a curve every third or fourth pitch.
