Blake Verified Member Posted June 7, 2018 Author Posted June 7, 2018 That's not necessarily an either/or situation. Some can do both at the same time. (For the record, I'm not drunk.)yeah, and I tend to get smarter the drunker I get.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted June 7, 2018 Posted June 7, 2018 yeah, and I tend to get smarter the drunker I get.Not sure I get smarter, but I definitely dance better.
IndianaTwin Verified Member Posted June 7, 2018 Posted June 7, 2018 Gladden: Depending on what happens with Mauer, do you see maybe Escobar being at third, with Polanco at short and Sano at first? Provus: Escobar is a free agent. They’d have to sign him. Gladden: They haven’t done that yet? Really? He doesn’t know the contract status of guys?
TwinsCD Verified Member Posted June 7, 2018 Posted June 7, 2018 A 1-2-3 inning out of Reed with no home run allowed? Surprising. As I posited in a previous game, it's like Molitor is totally snakebit on his bullpen decisions or he just makes bad decisions. If not for Pressly, we might be eating chicken after a 2-1 win.
David HK Verified Member Posted June 7, 2018 Posted June 7, 2018 Willians Astudillo played 3B today for the Rochester Red Wings, he seems like a Escobar type of player.I have been wondering all along why he is not up, instead of B Wilson. Or Garver, now, fer cryin out loud.

David HK Verified Member Posted June 7, 2018 Posted June 7, 2018 Especially after what should have been a “series to build on”. To take 3 of 4from the division leader and then lay a dud like this, it happens a lot it seems. They laid something. "Dud" wasn't the term I was thinking of.
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted June 7, 2018 Posted June 7, 2018 Seemed like we had no energy. This team is a rollercoaster ride. Go from playing great ball against Cleveland, to looking horrible against the White Sox. Tomorrow is as close to a "must win" that you can have without being in the playoffs.
David HK Verified Member Posted June 7, 2018 Posted June 7, 2018 I am not a big soccer fan, but I got the meaning of this little anecdote easily. Was listening to a couple of Brit colleagues discussing the greatness of Sir Alex Ferguson, coaching Man United- at one point losing at halftime to Tottenham. He gave a 3-word halftime speech that seemed to spark his team to victory- walked in, calmly said, "Lads. It's Tottenham." Walked out. They won. "Lads. It's the White Sox."

Honestly there’s something about off days that seems to throw everything haywire. Until yesterday’s comeback in the first game, the team had lost their last 7 games the day after an off day. Probably having a day off after winning 3 in a row may have done something to the big “mo”??? Who knows
Platoon Verified Member Posted June 7, 2018 Posted June 7, 2018 He wasn't even a full time catcher in the minors. He had only 210 games started at catcher, and 2500 innings, in five seasons. And they went with the hitter, as usual. The first time I saw him catch last year I wondered, what the hell. Years ago you would see big bellied, older guys catching because they could hit. They were bad back there. But I don't think I have ever saw a younger athletic looking guy with hands that bad behind the plate. Umpiring behind him must be a complete nightmare.
Platoon Verified Member Posted June 7, 2018 Posted June 7, 2018 I forgot to say, as Mrs Chief and I were getting ready to go out to dinner tonight, she kind of caught me by surprise. She was standing in front of the mirror, looking at herself, and she turned to me and said, "Honey, I look fat, and old. I need you to say something nice about me." Well, like I said, I was kind of caught off guard. At a loss for words. "Well, your eyesight is as good as ever, honey!" was the best I could come up with. I try so very hard not to laugh at these jokes. But I do anyway. The disturbing part is I still don't know whether the jokes simply reflect on Chief? Or am I complicit in this ongoing assault on decency?
