D. Hocking Verified Member Posted July 10, 2018 Posted July 10, 2018 Smart asses, the lot of you! Haven't seen that movie either, sorry. It was great. I had been waiting them to revive the Francis the Talking Mule franchise for years. It was worth the wait. Funny, but with some real emotional depth that stays with you long after the movie is over. ashbury and Craig Arko 2

Squirrel Community Moderator Posted July 10, 2018 Author Posted July 10, 2018 If you enjoy the trend of more humorous action films, you will like it.I enjoyed it ... but not as much as the other Marvel movies. I laughed at the Partridge Family Theme Song.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted January 1, 2019 Author Posted January 1, 2019 The Green Book ... most excellent.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted January 4, 2019 Posted January 4, 2019 Bird Box on Netflix... I'm not sure what the hype is all about. It's a fine one time watch. Had the chance to be really good...
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted January 4, 2019 Posted January 4, 2019 (edited) Tonight I'm going to watch Black Mirror: Bandersnatch. Really looking forward to choosing my own path for how the movie goes. Has anyone watched this yet? Edited January 4, 2019 by Vanimal46
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted January 4, 2019 Author Posted January 4, 2019 I saw the Mary Poppins sequel last night. Eh. It was ‘delightful’ enough, and entertaining enough, but it will NOT reach the iconic levels that Julie Andrews created the first go ‘round. They called it a sequel, but it was really a remake without calling it that because, well, that can never be remade. Some ‘surprise’ appearances, but other than that, it just didn’t live up to the original, which was practically perfect in every way. This just wasn’t that.

Nope, but as a kid who read hundreds of "Choose your own Adventures" as an 8 year old.....I will definitely be watching this. Also....the wife and I dropped the kids with the grandparents and she chose "Holmes and Watson" and let me tell you...disaster isn't even adequate. It was the worst movie I've ever paid money to watch.

So I haven't "experienced" the show, though if it was easier, I would have. Edited January 5, 2019 by PseudoSABR

Everyone I know that went to Watson and Holmes had the same review... That's really too bad. I guess the comedy duo was due for a dud. Most everything they appear in is gold.

Would not allow me to utilize my Roku unless it was paired with a game console controller rather than the usual remote. Brock Beauchamp 1
biggentleben Verified Member Posted January 6, 2019 Posted January 6, 2019 I know that the superhero genre is a bit hit and miss, but I really enjoyed Aquaman, and what I really enjoyed was that I took the kids for the oldest boy's 7th birthday, and the movie was not beyond their grasp or beyond what I'd want them to watch. I have a boy and a girl that absolutely love Batman, but no way can they watch any of the Batman Begins, Dark Knight, or Dark Knight Rises. The visuals in the movie were tremendous on a big screen as well. Squirrel 1

Maybe the theatre will be somewhat 'quiet' with everyone else invested in the game.

biggentleben Verified Member Posted January 8, 2019 Posted January 8, 2019 Which Roku do you have? Is it a USB stick, or a box? It's an integrated Roku into an LG set...about 4-5 years old.
AlwaysinModeration Verified Member Posted January 10, 2019 Posted January 10, 2019 Went to see On the basis of Sex this past weekend. Great movie, in my opinion. There is a funny SNL bit where they say that RBG, like Brett Kavanaugh, keeps a calendar, only on hers, each day, there is only one entry: DON’T DIE. And, chiming in on the earlier part of this thread, I didnt really like Shape of Water. Three Billboards was much better.

TheLeviathan Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2019 Posted April 28, 2019 Endgame is a masterpiece. It beautifully concludes the best franchise arch of all time.
gunnarthor Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2019 Posted April 28, 2019 Endgame is a masterpiece. It beautifully concludes the best franchise arch of all time.I thought it was pretty good although I probably liked individual movies in the MCU better. Didn't like one part at the end which seemed out of character but they really did a great job considering all those movies.

I too would probably put this movie behind a few others in the franchise, but the big moments were some of the best I've ever seen on the screen. The one with Cap (you know the one).....damn.
