jun Verified Member Posted September 3, 2017 Posted September 3, 2017 Without good bullpen and clutch bat, there would be plenty of 'oh so close' games.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted September 3, 2017 Posted September 3, 2017 It's nice to be invested in the games again.Like I said earlier, it didn't even feel like this in 2015, which went down to the final weekend.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2017 Posted September 3, 2017 And...those of you excusing Falvine for not getting any help can thank them for seeing Giminez and Adrianza hitting in the 9th with the tying run on second. This, does any other team in the hunt for a playoff spot do this?

h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2017 Posted September 3, 2017 The Twins scored 15 more runs in the 3 game series, and lost 2 of 3. Pitching was given the lead 2 times today and gave it back the very next half inning. This is a bad loss. I would take the reverse, and suck up the 17-0 stat padding drubbing any day of the week.

Falvine isn't making the decision to send those guys to the plate in that inning. Castro couldn't bat for Gimenez? Better yet, Gimenez couldn't get a freakin bunt down? What the hell good has he been since Castro went out other than throwing out a couple of baserunners? Zero. Average back below 200 and auditioning for Thunder Down Under with that stupid unbuttoned shirt look. I don't have as much of a problem with Adrianza batting there but then, I wouldn't have batted for Kepler either in the 8th.
Dozier's Glorious Hair Verified Member Posted September 3, 2017 Posted September 3, 2017 You're right. They don't and didn't need to win both of these one run games. That is correct. A 1.5-game lead in the wild card with 26 left to play? Sounds good to me. This is going to be a fun ride.

But we were not mathematically eliminated today, and there are several big baseball markets right now saying "a chance to gain a game on the Twins." It's about time! Edit: what guy ahead of me said

Darius Verified Member Posted September 3, 2017 Posted September 3, 2017 Huge loss today. I didn't get to watch the game. But, is there a reason why Giminez and Adrianza were allowed to hit with a runner on second in the ninth when down by one?
Darius Verified Member Posted September 3, 2017 Posted September 3, 2017 This team will not make the playoffs. I offered 5 to 1 on that a couple weeks ago then they were about 35%. I'd still give that.

Frankly, I like Adrianza's chances of getting a base hit over Vargas or Granite- the only other logical candidates. If the Twins had been down two runs, then I think you see Vargas. You are at home. You play for the tie.
