USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted July 23, 2017 Posted July 23, 2017 I broke my arm in two places today. Went to the emergency room, where the doctor took a look, and told me to stay out of those places.

Guest Guests Posted July 23, 2017 Posted July 23, 2017 Anytime I hear the opinion that the Twins need to pay up for a #3, I think of Zimmerman and Anibal Sanchez.

Danchat Verified Member Posted July 23, 2017 Posted July 23, 2017 Zimmerman was pitching so poorly it was hard to watch, even as a fan of the opposing team.

jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted July 23, 2017 Posted July 23, 2017 I don't like watching any pitcher get screwed on great pitches to the corners. I can't wait for electronic calls for balls and strikes. That said, we've all seen Twins pitchers get screwed on those calls, especially earlier this season. Seeing the "luck" even out a little doesn't bother me too much. And then there's Kyle Gibson. See what I meant when I said he's got the stuff to dominate? This is almost like watching Gibson steal Santana's Zen mindset. He's throwing all his pitches for strikes, showing no pattern, and attacking the zone. Hey Kyle, when you're done today, give back Erv his little Zen doll. It's been missing from his locker for a couple weeks... ;-)
DocBauer Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2017 Posted July 23, 2017 He just looks more comfortable and confident. Seems to be attacking the zone. Earlier in the season, with 2 on and 2 out, he'd have walked the bases loaded and allowed a big double.
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2017 Posted July 23, 2017 Sano takes the one hanging slider meatball down the middle that was a strike.... all the other pitches were balls, but he swings at 2 of the 5 outside pitches and strikes out. Plate discipline is slipping as the season goes on.....

Seeing the "luck" even out a little doesn't bother me too much. It always bothers me. Always has. It will be nice when the game is not affected by guessing umpires. It really does change every game drastically. Fans are just numb because it was always accepted that it was OK for umpires to get it wrong. Zimmerman got screwed all game, and Gibson was getting a bunch of miscalls. I guess that means that Zimmerman was horrible because the umpire was..... hmmmm.

Now, it's like he doesn't want to take a walk. Maybe he's frustrated at being pitched around?

h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2017 Posted July 23, 2017 Gibson gets through 7. I must be dreaming. Thanks for the help, Mahtook .
