Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2017 Posted July 16, 2017 Grossman couldn't catch that ball hit by Bregman? Sure looked like a line drive right at him with maybe a couple steps forward. Instead he backs up a couple of steps to catch it on a hop.

Mill1634 Verified Member Posted July 16, 2017 Posted July 16, 2017 Kyle gonna Kyle...the most frustrating pitcher to watch on the team.
70charger Verified Member Posted July 16, 2017 Posted July 16, 2017 Gibson seems to collapse just when he's looking good. He lets the 7-8-9 hitters all get 2 out hits. Solution: never let Gibson get to 2 outs.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2017 Author Posted July 16, 2017 This inning hasn't gone very well... and spoilers, similar things happens in the simulation, too.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2017 Posted July 16, 2017 Eddie would have caught it ... or misplayed it into a triple. Seriously... Couldn't Grossman have caught that ball!!!!!!! Two two out hits later and a run is on the board. Seriously... Couldn't Grossman have caught that ball. Someone rewind the broadcast and tell me if I'm crazy. I've looked at it 4 times now. I think Grossman should have caught that ball fairly easy.
Guest Guests Posted July 16, 2017 Posted July 16, 2017 I'm not "done" with Kyle Gibson, but I look forward to the day when the team has five starters better than him.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2017 Posted July 16, 2017 I never thought another crowd would woop it up on uneventful plays worse than the Yankees. But boy, these Astros fans may be worse.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2017 Author Posted July 16, 2017 Strat-O-Matic ReportBottom of the 2nd McCann singles to right.Gurriel grounds into a double play.Gonzalez singles to right.Bregman singles to right, Kepler errors the play, runners advance one base.Aoki singles to center, Rosario errors on the throw, both runners score, Aoki to 2nd.Marisnick singles, Aoki scores.Spinger grounds out to short. Astros lead 3-0. Ugh. Two outfield errors, plus the game seems like it knows Rosario has the tendency to airmail throws.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2017 Posted July 16, 2017 I've looked at it 10 times now. Grossman SHOULD HAVE CAUGHT THAT BALL

70charger Verified Member Posted July 16, 2017 Posted July 16, 2017 Who's this all-glove, no-bat shortstop we've picked up?
70charger Verified Member Posted July 16, 2017 Posted July 16, 2017 Anyone else watching mlb.tv? They don't have the audio feed for me with the "special guest," so it sounds like long silences followed by Torii Hunter talking to himself.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2017 Posted July 16, 2017 What do you really think about the play, though? LOL... I'm gonna give him the benefit the doubt. It was in a light bank or something or it blended into a shirt in the stands or something. But... it landed at his feet and he barely moved. It's unfortunate because no runs score if he catches that ball. You can't give extra outs to a team like the Astros and a pitcher like Gibson.

USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted July 16, 2017 Posted July 16, 2017 ADRIANAZAI've looked at this 10 times. I think RB should have left out that last "a".

I've been watching mlb.tv on my tv, because I get to not see commercials but, I had to give up and switch to Direct TV.

Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2017 Author Posted July 16, 2017 Strat-O-Matic ReportBottom of the 3rd Altuve singles to right.Altuve steals second.Reddick singles to left, Altuve scores.McCann singles to left, Reddick to 3rd.Gurriel singles to center, Reddick scores, McCann to second.Gonzalez strikes out swinging.Bregman grounds into double play. Those two singles to left were playable balls for Grossman, but his poor defense made it so that both landed. That's now 10 singles in 3 innings for the Astros and they lead 5-0. At least the Twins have turned 3 double plays...
