USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted July 16, 2017 Posted July 16, 2017 Look out world, Pressly's ERA is under 7.I still have hopes for Pressly. He is one Twin reliever who actually does have swing and miss stuff.
wavedog Verified Member Posted July 16, 2017 Posted July 16, 2017 Thanks for the big shift - nice hitting Dozier
70charger Verified Member Posted July 16, 2017 Posted July 16, 2017 It's amazing to me a major league team can abandon the right side of the infield, and a hitter like Dozier can't take advantage of it. One reason teams can shift more now than in the past is, teams put a premium on training hitters how to handle a bat. It's not all that hard to intentionally poke a ground ball the other way. You just have to be willing to put in the work, and put away your pride. Ahem.
Guest Guests Posted July 16, 2017 Posted July 16, 2017 Seriously, that's why former catchers make good managers, cuz they get it. Madden, Sciocia, Girardi, Hinch, Ausmus, Melvin, etc.As an FYI, I was hoping they would have selected Steinbach three years ago.

Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2017 Posted July 16, 2017 Horrendous plate discipline to swing at that pitch by Miguel, especially after a walk
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2017 Author Posted July 16, 2017 Strat-O-Matic Game ReportBottom of the 8th (Trevor Hildenberger pitching, Castro catching)Reddick strikes out swinging.McCann doubles to center.Gurriel singles to left, McCann to 3rd.(Taylor Rogers now pitching)Gonzalez sac fly to deep center, McCann scores (HOU 8-7), Gurriel to 2nd.Bregman strikes out swinging.Well... it's down to the 9th inning and we trail by one! Meanwhile, the Twins in reality are trying to overcome a 3 run deficit in the 9th.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted July 16, 2017 Posted July 16, 2017 And those two cheap runs in the 7th really, really hurt now.

Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2017 Author Posted July 16, 2017 Strat-O-Matic Game ReportTop of the 9th Sano triples (I don't know how this would happen...).Kepler walks.Vargas walks, bases loaded.Escobar strikes out swinging.Rosario strikes out swinging.Castro strikes out swinging. Astros win 8-7. Wow. Just wow. The Twins needed one run in the 9th, got a leadoff triple, and then completely blew it. That's two incredibly disappointing loses today. Alright, thanks for tuning in everybody. Let's hope for a better series next time around.
Puckett34 Verified Member Posted July 16, 2017 Posted July 16, 2017 It's the teams with winning records that we struggle against. What are they, 9-22 against teams with a winning record? And 4 or 5 of those are against the Indians

And 5 were against Cleveland. 2 vs Boston and 1 vs the Rockies, astros and rays THATS NOT GONNA GET IT DONE I DONT THINK
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2017 Author Posted July 16, 2017 I'm confused by this thing you're doing. Is it some alternate universe?I explained it in the opening post, but basically it's a board game called Strat-O-Matic Baseball and it simulates games using the players' stats.

Roaddog Verified Member Posted July 16, 2017 Posted July 16, 2017 Correctly spell his own name with a Z. Well, at the time I was more concerned about the beef jerky I was making. I guess spelling his name right is really low on the list
notoriousgod71 Verified Member Posted July 16, 2017 Posted July 16, 2017 Wow, did you play a whole season or something? Or was it a computer version of the board game? All cards and dice. To me, the computer version lacks the ambiance of chucking your dice across the room when J.C. Romero gives up another run.
