Did Jorge lack command or does his stuff not really play? He reminded me of radke in his manner and delivery. And the moonballs come to think of it... minus the effectiveness so far.

 

He's not an MLB starter and really has never projected as one. He needs work to profile as a middle reliever, let alone starter.

I was just thinking that I liked Polanco here because he doesn't strike out. 

 

I'll stop thinking and go back to my normal self.

Jorge managed to pitch himself to a game score of six. So I guess that's kind of like scoring a touchdown in your NFL debut, right?

 

Gausman sitting at 53 and counting for the game, for anyone who is not a fan of game scores for pitchers and could use a little context.

Right there were two of the worst at bats you'll ever see at the major league level, in succession. Any momentum has been thrown in a wood chipper.

I wonder how long Polanco holds onto his starting SS gig.  I lose more faith in him weekly.

 

It's not especially encouraging to think that his offense was supposed to be what would let him be a net asset at shortstop.

So, it wasn't just me that thought Buxton was put in a position where he pretty much thought he had to swing. That ball wasn't just a little outside. Good grief.
