Is the commissioner concerned about pace of play?

Maybe they want a younger generation of fans watching?! I don't like sports that last all day with loads of pauses

You're absolutely right...I do find watching cricket boring...especially test cricket! -_-

Twenty20 cricket is just about watchable as it doesn't last all day

Cricket? I used to play Cricket. Even won a trophy or two. Unfortunately, though, I gave up drinking and and don't frequent bars where boards are available these days.

Apparently Kepler won't be playing due to a foul ball off the foot last night. So, according to Gleeman we have Rosario, Gimenez, Grossman outfield.

Edit: Rosario is sitting, so it is Buxton, Gimenez, Grossman

Nothing quite like setting Gibson up for success.

This is Merica.  We don't do crazy metric numbers and don't you be touching our dates :)

And brettbrett 88 if, we do it wrong (which we don't) why did you do today's date as we do, in your title thread?????? curious here.......

I'm going to go out on a limb and say there might be a moderator forcing that one.

Firstly, what a great win yesterday against the Indians which included a shutout; it was impressive considering how hot they have been offensively recently.

Don't you mean a "clean sheet"? :)

Yesterday's strike zone was on the small side, today it is on the rather large size.

Wasn't our best top half of the inning that is for sure.

Just checking in. Getting the Cleveland TV feed today. They now are saying strike 3 to Vargas was a legitimate called strike even though the electronic feed showed it was clearly outside. Because, you know, Kluber.

1882? Hmmm.

GREAT SEPTEMBER COMET OF 1882: This comet is perhaps the brightest comet that has ever been seen; a gigantic member of the Kreutz Sungrazing Group. First spotted as a bright zero-magnitude object by a group of Italian sailors in the Southern Hemisphere on Sept. 1, this comet brightened dramatically as it approached its rendezvous with the Sun. By the 14th, it became visible in broad daylight and when it arrived at perihelion on the 17th it passed at a distance of only 264,000-miles from the Sun's surface. On that day, some observers described the comet's silvery radiance as scarcely fainter than the limb of the Sun, suggesting a magnitude somewhere between -15 and -20! The following day, observers in Cordoba described the comet as a "blazing star" near the Sun. The nucleus also broke into at least four separate parts. In the days and weeks that followed, the comet became visible in the morning sky as an immense object sporting a brilliant tail. Today, some comet historians consider it as a "Super Comet," far above the run of even Great Comets.

This is way cool.

For what it's worth, I have never left an English restaurant without feeling a good deal less appetite than when I went in. That's the idea, right?

Here's the difference between heaven and hell. In heaven the Germans build the cars, the French do the cooking and the British are the police. In hell the Germans are the police, the French build the cars and the British do the cooking. Kidney pie and haggis all around.

Kluber getting the Tom Glavine strike zone from blue today. Shameful.

Outrageous. I know that in English football referee performance in every game is reviewed and future assignments are dependent on high quality. Does MLB review umpire performance?

I believe they do get reviewed.
