It's been happening a lot at home. Inability to come through with guys ISP. I could live with it if they put it in play, but wayyyy too many unproductive outs.

I doubt the "double steal" was a call from the dugout. And the pinch hitting situation to which you are referring took place almost an hour after your statement.

Polanco-Vargas-Kepler have gone 1-15 with 15 LOB.  Not very productive day for the 2-4-5 hitters in the lineup. Too easy to blame the game on the manager when the player's aren't getting it done on the field.
