No, Dick, having Buxton injured does not cause a problem for Molitor to get Vargas in the lineup. Quite the opposite. Just pure stupidity there

Considering the only actual strike thrown, he plastered off the limstone wall at about 110 mph, 20 ft from a 2 run homer, I'm not going as far as calling it an awful AB. But, I get your point, it could've been better.
