jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 Hate to say it, but Buxton needs a little AAA vacation. It's just too painful watching him beat himself up at the plate. He needs to find his smile again, like his mom told him last season.
HitInAPinch Verified Member Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 Polanco makes 'em pay!! I really like that kid! http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/sports/images/baseball/1999/griffith2_102099ap.jpg
ScrapTheNickname Provisional Member Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 The longest 9-inning game took 32 minutes per half inning. We're now through two, and it has taken 66 minutes. I know it's early ...
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 This ump ****ing sucks ass. What a load crap. Complete and utter bull****. I'm so pissed right now. Multiple strikes called balls, including at 3-0 and then this horse**** hit batter call. Gonna punch something right now. UPDATE: Haha suck it ump. You got overturned.Geez, we almost lost our GP-13 rating on that post ...
akmanak Verified Member Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 This is one difference compared to last year, we actually have had some clutch hitting early in the season.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 I'm getting an almost Rosario-sized man crush on Jorge Polanco. It's kind of embarrassing. We gotta couple real ballplayers in these two guys.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 Whoa, Mejia totally frisbee'd that slider. That kinda pitch can go a loooong way.
HitInAPinch Verified Member Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 Ok, can we get Mejia out of the game now? EDIT: Thank You!
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 Hey, Molitor got smart! Mejia looked gassed from that previous inning.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 Oh jeeze, I hope Jones isn't hurt too bad. Did that catch him in the jaw?
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 Oh jeeze, I hope Jones isn't hurt too bad. Did that catch him in the jaw?Didn't see a replay, but they were holding a towel to his mouth area, so I'm assuming somewhere around the mouth. NO thought of leaving him in the game, got him pretty good.

He needs to find his smile again, like his mom told him last season.Buxton has to sink or swim at the MLB level. There is nothing for him at AAA. If the Twins are still in contention in June I might change my mind. You can't lose games because he is taking non-professional at bats.
Danchat Verified Member Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 Not sure if this team needs to carry 13 pitchers, but they've badly needed a mop-up reliever like Haley.
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 Maybe the Twins will win by forefeit if the Tigers run out of players.
HitInAPinch Verified Member Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 Wow, Sano has really improved his defense this year. Smooth throws.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 What was it Falvine saw in Haley again? 88-90 FB?
LaBombo Verified Member Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 What's the appropriate opposite of the 'Free Player X!" chant for a deserving player who an organization refuses to promote from AAA? Hmmm. "Imprison Byron Buxton!" ? There's an argument to be made that he's better off riding out the storm at this level, but... good Lord. Also: Who took my toque? Mahtook, methinks.

yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 What was it Falvine saw in Haley again? 88-90 FB? Dick and Torii kinda mentioned that Haley has a bit of an unusual delivery that hides the ball well. It makes his fastball seem "sneaky fast".
Blake Verified Member Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 Can I call in and talk for half an hour about the importance of keeping the ball on the ground?I thought it was putting the barrel of the bat on the ball? Downward plane?
LaBombo Verified Member Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 What was it Falvine saw in Haley again? 88-90 FB? Other than "Rock Around the Clock", he's really just got "See ya Later Alligator" and some indifferent off-speed stuff that he can't throw on fastball counts. That, and possibly to help us prepare for the possibility that Levine was hired to be the new Terry Ryan instead of the new GM.
Blake Verified Member Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 Y'know, it's tough to admit it, but I might be getting a little forgetful. My doctor told me to write things down, as a way to remember, but it just sorta irritates me, y'know? Last night Mrs Chief and I were watching TV, and I went into the kitchen. I asked her if she wanted anything, and she thought for a second, then said, "Yeah, some ice cream." "OK, gotcha covered," I replied. "Plain?" "No, put some of that caramel sauce on it, please. And honey...do you think you should write this down?" she asked. "You know what the doctor said." A little *****'ed, I snapped "NO. I remember. Ice cream, caramel. I'll even bring the damn spoon." "OK, OK," she said. "Geez, just trying to help." I was still pretty perturbed 20 minutes later when I brought her the damn bacon and eggs. And what do you suppose I got for being nice? Backtalk, that's what. She looked at me with a touch of sympathy in her eyes--I HATE that--and gently said "See, you should have written it down. Where's my toast?"I would write things down more but I keep forgetting where I put the pad and pen.
