sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 If anyone wants a silver lining for the game. With three runs, we at least raised the bar for the Wild tonight. I still hope we win.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 Way late to the game, but I would have liked to see Molitor give some guff to ausmus for one of his guys even remotely thinking the jones HBP was intentional.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 Note to Polanco: Keep pumping iron, kid. Those balls will start going out.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 Mauer took two pitches that I think he could homer on. IMO
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 Man, that Polanco hit ... I was about ready to scream 'PUT IT ON THE BOAAAAARRRRRD, YES!' I've been living in Chicago too long.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 Mauer took two pitches that I think he could homer on. IMOYou know, mostly I'd be with you on that, but may I remind you what he did earlier in the game?
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 Well crap. Now you can say it. Better yet, you probably jinxed it.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 You know, mostly I'd be with you on that, but may I remind you what he did earlier in the game?I wasn't watching, only listening!
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 Oh well, he plays a good first base.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 Let the debate begin anew: Is Mauer's glove good enough to justify his fading bat?

DrNeau Verified Member Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 Unbelievable that Mauer did not swing at that 1-0 fastball strike. Winds up having to swing. Struck out.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 Let the debate begin anew: Is Mauer's glove good enough to justify his fading bat?We have several threads for that. And I'd say he was the reason we tied it up 3-3 earlier in the game. Can't be the hero every time. But yeah, I know, he's not who he was and won't be again.

Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 Would have been interesting to see sano in that position.

That is how come not so many are chiming in here, because they had more interesting things to watch. Oh well. I am used to disappointment.

stringer bell Verified Member Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 Frustrating day at the ballpark for me. I found a good seat, but my phone ran out of juice, so I couldn't post. The first half of the game was loooong, so many visits to the mound, a challenge and a rhubarb. I finally tried to charge my phone and none of the chargers worked. Finally, snuck back into my seat and then got booted so I had to find a new home (this is on the spring pass). I like Mejía, but I think he needs more time in Rochester. The long innings, too many pitches and short starts are too much to put up with for a guy with an upside of middle-of-the-road starter, and he's making it so that eight relievers are required.
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 Mejia has been optioned to Rochester. Haley going on the DL. Replacements have not been announced yet.
