snepp Verified Member Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 Why? Then double the hitter up at first.
glunn Community Moderator Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 Why?In the hope that Polanco who was covering third could have then thrown to first to make a DP.
IndianaTwin Verified Member Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 I kind of feel that way about listening to Hawk, alone or otherwise. Yet I still do. It's difficult to measure the harm it's caused over the 17 years I've lived in Chicago. Hawk is so painful to watch, but I actually like Jason Benetti, the guy who does the home games. His humor is just quirky enough to make me think he's probably using an assumed name to post on TD during games. And Steve Stone is much more enjoyable when working with Benetti than when working with Hawk. He's actually got a sense of humor as well.

spinowner Provisional Member Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 What's the wind like there? Keep hearing the Sox announcers say how wicked it is today.Wicked is where my wife and daughter were today.
snepp Verified Member Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 Let's see the Twins beat up on Swarzak now... I'm going to blame you when it goes 1-2-3 with 2 k's.

Hawk is always trying to 'one up' Steve Stone and it just makes him sound dumb
IndianaTwin Verified Member Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 At least a couple times per year I choose to listen to Hawk. If the Twins are killing the Sox, listening to Hawk can truly be an amazing experience. My all-time favorite was the time Thome crushed one to the flag pole in a tie game (I think). I timed a full 52 seconds of silence before he finally was able to choke out, "And we'll be back," as they went to commercial for a pitching change. I'm sure they had to get a new mute button from how hard he had to have been squeezing it.
glunn Community Moderator Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 At least Buxton is getting fastballs now.
ashbury Verified Member Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 This guy doesn't either. http://www.twincities.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/20140713__1-dozierFanBackHair.jpgIck? Or ish?
DrNeau Verified Member Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 Buxton on the verge of reaching base!
IndianaTwin Verified Member Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 So true. But the best is rendering him silent after a game of tirades. Thome walk off home run anyone? Sorry -- responded before seeing this one. Yes, this is the one I meant. Is it still available anywhere on Youtube?
crapforks Provisional Member Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 Buxton: OBP trending in the right direction!!!
stringer bell Verified Member Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 So a leadoff walk to Buck is like a double?
ashbury Verified Member Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 Inside the park homer: That was EGGciting for an Easter game. Here comes Brian cottontail, hopping around the bunny bases... I know lame.
70charger Verified Member Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 Glad to see Buxton lay off that outside pitch, which seems to have been the bane of his existence lately. Hopefully there's some basepath carnage coming.
snepp Verified Member Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 Ick? Or ish? If I recall correctly, it was... IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKK! ...or some variation of that.
ashbury Verified Member Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 Ick? Or ish?I am so way-behind. Never mind. I blame Easter dinner.
glunn Community Moderator Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 So a leadoff walk to Buck is like a double? Not this time.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 Sorry -- responded before seeing this one. Yes, this is the one I meant. Is it still available anywhere on Youtube?I'm not sure but it was hilarious.
glunn Community Moderator Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 Swarzak is pitching well today.
spinowner Provisional Member Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 This guy doesn't either. http://www.twincities.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/20140713__1-dozierFanBackHair.jpgI don't know which is worse, actually shaving the hair on your back like that or showing it off in public.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 I am so way-behind. Never mind.Yes, do keep up, would you?
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 I don't know which is worse, actually shaving the hair on your back like that or showing it off in public.Yes
hybridbear Verified Member Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 If Buxton had stolen 2nd he would have scored from 2nd on Kepler's single.
ashbury Verified Member Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 So a leadoff walk to Buck is like a double?Close. http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-F_dMa0ozY3A/VUT1N3gUrcI/AAAAAAAAwJU/bG-u6gDkdIg/s1600/getsmart.jpg
