Just musing. I'm at work so missed the HR. Closest I ever got to an honest-to-goodness, out-of-the-yard home run was in Pony League when I was 14. Wind was blowing 40 mph out, I got perfect wood on a 55-mph fast ball, and it fell just short of the fence. With my speed I turned it into a triple.

 

Anyone here hit a real HR? Must feel good.

This was probably discussed in that game thread, but did this raise any suspicions that RB is actually Kermit the Frog?

 

Although there is some evidence that he is perhaps a rival of Kermit and wants to steal his color as well as other things from the frog.

I disagree with Smalley.  Infielders need to get out in FRONT of bags for tags now, rather than put the glove down and let the runner slide into it.

 

Too easy to get around a tag that is right next to the bag.   If that glove is down 2 or 3 feet away from the bag, much more difficult to get around it and get the hand in.

 

Also, stay with the tag, so if contact with the bag is broken by the runner, you have a chance for the out call.

After all these years, Dozier is still reaching out to tag. That coupled with his not keeping his glove on the runner until the play is over are more reasons to trade him.

That slide at second was almost exactly like Nunez' last night. Difference being Twins didn't challenge, which may have been just as well, because if the call on Nunez had been upheld they wouldn't have been able to challenge the call at home on the Vargas slide, which turned out to be a key moment in the game-winning rally.

Been saying it for a long time.  DH is where he should be.  He'll hurt us too much anywhere else.
