spinowner Provisional Member Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 Winnah! Nice clean save for Kintzler.
notoriousgod71 Verified Member Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 Molitor is one lucky SOB. It was still a terrible move to take Gibson out.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 Well, I'll gladly eat all the crow that is coming my way. I'm floored. Simply floored.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 Kintzler just won the Houdini award.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 Winnah! Nice clean save for Kintzler.More like Guardado style
Jerr Verified Member Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 Just got here for the final out...I'll take the credit for the win, BUT Molitor REALLY???????
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted July 23, 2016 Author Posted July 23, 2016 Winnah! Nice clean save for Kintzler. Squeaky clean! And perhaps got some valuable experience that will pay off later. Some toasty chicken indeed. Thanks all!
dgwills Provisional Member Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 Ortiz walk off. Calling itYou ordered some crow?
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 I'll give an awful lot of credit after last nights stinker and the way this one started. And almost ended. Good for them. Makes my trip up to Fenway tomorrow a little better.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 You ordered some crow?I would have bet my house. But I don't own it, I just rent.
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 No need to eat anything. That was still a horrible move. Lucky Lucky Lucky Lucky. Gibson deserved a complete game. Kintzler is no closer. Whew!!

wavedog Verified Member Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 Yes, especially since we have nothing to lose why not let Gibby close out the game? All's well that ends well I guess - nice to come back after last nights loss.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 No need to eat anything. That was still a horrible move. Lucky Lucky Lucky Lucky. Gibson deserved a complete game. Kintzler is no closer. Whew!!Exactly. We're 20+ games out. His pitch count was reasonable for 8 innings. Who would have guessed the biggest clutch hitter the Red Sox have seen in decades would GIDP there. That's a one in a million chance.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 Where you see crow, i see a stealthy use of the anti-jinx.Well played! That was my plan all along

Kintzler is no closer. Whew!! Ah, but is Kintzler now perhaps a little closer... to being a closer? He closed, after all. With some defense behind him. I think he can have coffee.

Kintzler is no closer. Whew!! Gibson was masterful tonight. And I think I'm the Twins biggest critic for ultimately being forced into looking to Kintzler as their closer, seemingly by default. But I have to give Kintzler all the credit in the world- up against one of the hottest teams in baseball, and the guy gutted it out in a game that by all rights should have been lost- the very definition of a pitcher "battling". One of the most enjoyable games all year- Kudos to Kintzler for Bearing down in Boston with Balls of Brass. If anything- his trade stock went up huge tonight.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 Morneau just hit a 3 run homer for the sox to take the lead over Detroit.
Blake Verified Member Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 The bullpen was used and abused last night so, what does a Twins starter do? 8 innings. This is the Twins, right? Outstanding job all the way around.

I think he can have coffee.Absolutely not! Just fools gold, just like Jepsen. DO NOT BE FOOLED. But as Jokin pointed out, good for trade value. Don't press the luck. Trade tonight.

He made his own hole. Two 0-2 counts to the first two batters, and he gave them pitches to hit. I guess he had been watching Perkins' films.

I guess he had been watching Perkins' films. He's really good at digging holes with that sinker- and you've hit on the exact reason that he was only able to sign a minor league contract to start out the season. And to add to the odds stacked up against him0 he's definitely not a strikeout pitcher... Just a gut-it-out pitcher.
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 Morneau just hit a 3 run homer for the sox to take the lead over Detroit.Just watched the video. Morneau looks horrible in that uniform! ;-)
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 Heh. Absolutely right. Any team out there with a Hu-like player in AA that they're willing to trade to us?Nunez too. Quick, while his sinking average is still over .300. Tonight! And get Palanco up here.
jokin Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 Nunez too. Quick, while his sinking average is still over .300. Tonight! And get Palanco up here. Yup. Why Nunie wasn't on the first plane out of San Diego to... whereever? is beyond me. It would have been a nice parting gift by Terry to both Nunez and Twins fans.
